Where did you get your diminished value estimates from? I haven't been able to get a good answer from anyone after a kid drove into the back of my R1T.
I had this noise on my R1T when I got it. Service sprayed something on the grill vents like you said. Did they tell you they used WD40? WD40 can damage certain plastics so I'm a bit surprised if that's what they use.
I took everything out to get a picture of the mount but there is actually a ton of room in there even with the tire mounted.
I carry:
Jack puck and wheel socket kit
1/2" drive collapsible harbor freight breaker bar
bottle jack
foot pad for using the bottle jack on soft terrain
recovery strap...
I have a set of 4 21" Road tires that I used briefly on my R1T before switching to 20" wheels. The wheels come with the aero cover and are in great condition. They have more than 9/32 (measured 0.2985" depth with calipers, close to the full 10/32) of tread on them and the tread looks almost new...
It's probably fine just sitting in there but I could hear my tire thumping around driving on some rutted gravel roads. I feel better having it secured. Plus this allows me to use the space around the tire to store some recovery gear and tools.
I have been looking for a simple way to secure my full sized spare in the under bed compartment of my R1T without making any custom parts. I came up with a pretty simple assembly that threads right into the original mounting hole and centers on the wheel with a plastic plug.
You need two...
I'm expecting it to be quite costly but thankfully I'm not at fault. My insurance company also has no database of estimates for Rivians they can compare to so essentially whatever the shop wants to charge is what insurance will pay.
Unfortunately my R1T was hit recently and needs some repairs done. I will need to bring it to a certified shop because some sensors were damaged and Rivian will only provide saftey system components to certified shops.
The two nearest shops are Conestoga Collision in Berwyn, PA and Peotter's...
Yes whatever it's doing is using quite a bit of the phone battery. I have changed the app settings on Android from unrestricted and I'll see if that fixes anything.
Is anyone else having an issue where the new app is using massive amounts of data? Since in installed it's been using about 800MB of mobile data per hour, non stop.
You can now perform the re-calibration procedure from the settings screen in the car.
From the June update notes:
You now have the ability to do it yourself by going to Settings › Vehicle › Service on the center display, selecting Driver Seat or Steering Wheel under Driver Position Calibration...
I had this exact issues appear recently. It gets progressively worse so don't recline the seat and expect it to go all the way back up. Neither a reboot or a sleep cycle helped for me.
I am a little worried about this but I figure we just need to do enough launches to get the shattered half shafts replaced under warranty. Easy solution. /s
I would personally recommend an SD card and USB C adapter for dash cam storage. It's much easier to purchase high write durability nand in a SD card compared to a USB drive. High end DSLR and mirrorless cameras put significant demands on their storage for burst shooting and raw or high bitrate...
I suppose it's reassuring that the infotainment instability doesn't directly impact driving but that still sounds like a potential safety issue to me. The reboots can take a while and you might not have any control of the lights or wipers.
Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 in 275/60R20 which is the same circumference as the OEM 21" wheel and tire combo. I'm running them at 46PSI and the ride comfort and range boost have both been great. I still need to have the truck recalibrated as the speedometer is currently 3% off because it still...
