They definitely give a foot booster to get into the truck--my teenager confirmed. For a larger foot (like my Size 15), it's too small to really give a place to step. My guess is that people with Size 11, or smaller, will appreciate and use the sliders as a step.
I think you could run 295/65r20 tires if you have the Mountain Pass Performance "LLL"s installed. I'm running 285/65r20 tires and have the LLLs installed. Pictures are at low suspension setting. The 295s are about a half inch taller and wider than what I have, but you could probably get 295s in...
I'm afraid this is your only hope. I've tried to get my Starlink Roam Mini connected a few times at my home (Seattle area) and it has only connected once. Get the Starlink Roam away from civilization and it works like a champ, though.
Separately, you asked about connecting ~30 feet from the...
Update on the Starlink mount inside of the R1T...
The ContronX Design suction mount is proving to be rock solid. Last weekend, I drove on bumpy forest service roads for three hours and the suction cups did not fail. Here's a 55-second video that I took showing the road conditions:
Wrapped up the Starlink Roam Mini installation today, tested, and am pleased with this connectivity solution. The gear tunnel wire management is a bit of a mess, but will suffice for now. :)
Shout out to @jjswan33 for sharing instructions on rear seat removal...
For about a month, I've been researching satellite connectivity solutions for Pacific Northwest adventures. I had it narrowed down to three options: 1) Zoleo (and comparable devices), 2) T-Mobile's Starlink texting, and 3) Starlink Roam Mini.
I went with a Starlink Roam Mini and want to share...
Getting ready for these GOAT Fabrication sliders. Replaced trail rash body cladding today. It's kind of funny that I tried to convince myself that the trashed body cladding was a badge of honor. Now that pieces are getting replaced, I'm trying to convince myself that the zebra stripes of...
A-pillar grab handle and side curtain airbags can co-exist (see photo of Ineos Grenadier). @Zoidz is spot on...the issue for us Rivian owners is mounting the grab handle securely to the a-pillar. See that pic of the Grenadier -- it has OEM mounting brackets under the trim for pillar grab handles.
Still debating which rock sliders to purchase. None of the current offerings are what I'm looking for...I am 6'10" and hate the idea of my truck having an access step (even the GOAT Fabrication sliders without the top plate seem to be a weak argument that it isn't a "step" design).
I wish...
