  1. Rivian just raised RAN pricing 47% over President’s Day weekend 2025

I am willing to tolerate more expensive rates for fast and reliable charging, especially when that vendor isn't Tesla. Prices will naturally come down when chargers are ubiquitous.
  2. Update: Georgia factory construction begins 2026, with R2/R3/R3X production in 2028 -- (article published 1/22/25)

This is actually good politically. They're reminding Georgia politicians of the jobs that are going to come with this factory at a time when their DOE loan is going to receive a lot of scrutiny.
  3. Reuters: Incoming US Administration to Roll Back EV Policies

Auto manufactures operate on a 5-year development cycle. I'm sure these wild swings in policy every 4 years make planning impossible. CARB requirements probably have a stabilizing effect given how crazy national politics are nowadays.
  4. Is Rivian updating the online configurator for the R1S? NACS?

This could also explain the new incentives they've added to in-stock vehicles. Maybe they're trying to clear out inventory before NACS lands?
  5. The Verge - US finalizes rule to effectively ban Chinese vehicles, which could include Polestar

Mayhem is not so far fetched (Screencap from Leave the World Behind).
  6. Ugly competition: The Cybertruck has a competitor

What does Rivian have to do with what I wrote?
  7. R1S takes #1, #3, #9 spots in Motortrend's Fastest SUV list

This has nothing to do with speed, but that Bentley Bentayga dash design is giving me Chrysler 300 vibes.
  8. Ugly competition: The Cybertruck has a competitor

Tesla is going to be in trouble in the USA if overall sales don't rebound after the redesigned MY comes on the market.
  9. Ugly competition: The Cybertruck has a competitor

I think this was the inspiration for the lighting design:
  10. Asymmetric headlights - is this normal?

I think it's a lot more noticeable in cars that have projector LED headlights, which is probably why this same question gets asked all the time.
  11. SiriusXM already subscribe in a different vehicle????

That is correct, unfortunately. OP is stuck with streaming Sirius over bluetooth unless they want to pay for a subscription that is locked to their Rivian. It's the nickel and dime era.
  12. JuiceBox (Enel X Way USA LLC) shutting down business in North America

A company called Voltie is taking over management of the EnelX chargers. I received an email today with instructions on how to set up my Juicebox with the new company:
  13. Report: NACS adapters will stop being free for new Rivian purchases starting later this month - per RivianTrackr

I wouldn't be so sure of that. NACS requires a contactor and a controller to switch from AC to DC since there are a single set of transmission pins. It's not a matter of just switching external ports. Switching hardware and software like this is never cheap. I know they are promising to...
  14. Rivian Awarded NEVI Funding in Colorado

I'm worried that they will cancel the program if they find out about it. I'm sure it's off the conservative majority's radar at the moment. :CWL: But seriously, I know that my state senator drives an F150 Lightning, so this is a great suggestion!
  15. Rivian Awarded NEVI Funding in Colorado

I'm glad that established players like Rivian are getting these awards because they should make more efficient use of the money. In my state about half of the awardee have no prior experience building charging stations. We're also stalled on phase one without a single station under...
  16. Confused about SXM in 47.01 - a radio or streaming?

Sirius would only be worth it if the Rivian had a satellite receiver. As it stands, the sirius app looks like a bloatware money grab. It's a shame that the premiere off-road adventure EV didn't provision for satellite reception.
  17. WFTV - Florida woman can't get out of bricked R1S for 45 min. PSA: check your emergency release access panels

I hate electronic door releases and think they should be outlawed. However, I'm pretty sure I would have been able to figure out the front door manual release because it's exactly where you would expect a release to be. It's a lot more intuitive than manual releases on other vehicles. I would...
