Ok. Sounds promising. As I reported earlier, we spend winters in CA (where we raised our kids and have many friends). I plan to wait for the second year of the R2 -- assuming my Outback, with 150k miles on it, holds out -- but don't know where I might be when "my number is called."
Glad to know...
Well, this changes things. Will this work? I'm gonna leave Pasadena as my home location for purposes of the wait list. I have always planned to get the R2 in 2027, for the reason mentioned in the last post.
But, what I should do is take delivery in Denver, get the permit you mention and drive...
Sage advice, both, but my possible social influencing days have passed and I'm too tied to CA and NM at this point to move in order to save a few thousand. Now, if it would move me higher up in the queue, I'd call the moving company tomorrow.
I did not know this. Yet another reason to have picked Pasadena as my home site. Thanks. Do you any other advice on how to positively affect my placement in the wait list? (-:
I'm on the R2S reservation list. My wife and I split our time between Pasadena, CA, and Taos, NM. The R2S will be the sole means by which we travel (with our border collie) between the two places. On the reservation list site, I listed my residence as Pasadena, CA, but I wonder whether I...
I'm hopeful that I might take possession November 10-12, 2026, in Pasadena, CA, assuming I take whatever is available in inventory at that time. Doable, right?
Point taken. Perhaps the height difference or the fact that I was driving someone else's car?
Appreciate the advice on buying what's available when it's available. Will do.
Got it. Thanks. Drove the R1S in Pasadena last week. Too big for my needs, but a nice car. Steering is a little wiggly (I told the salesman that, if it were my car, I'd take it to my mechanic and have him look at the struts). Also, not quite as fast as my Chevy Bolt, but the R1S is a huge...
I did not know that we are expected to choose the options on the R2 we hope to purchase. I'm in the queue, but have not chosen options. Is it important for me to do that? In an ideal world, I would take possession of the car in fall of '27. Should I indicate an exact date? (-:
Thanks. The R2S is probably a 2027 purchase for us, but service is an important issue. I recently read that Rivian is #1 in customer satisfaction and last in reliability.
Thanks. Yes, Co Springs is not an outrageous distance, I guess (3.5 hours). I suspect for simple jobs I'd rely on mobile service, but WILL THEY GO ANYWHERE? There is less clarity on this aspect of the service.
I am new to the Forum and learning a lot about owning a Tesla. I just put down a deposit on the R2S. Got plenty of time before that arrives, but my wife and I split our time between Taos, NM and Pasadena, CA. I figure service is going to be responsive in so Cal, but what will I do in NM? Maybe...
