I was here over the weekend, and given that I've never seen another Rivian off-road around here, I was wondering if anyone had explored this spot in Vermillion Cliffs National Monument in northern Arizona. It's definitely worth the trip, with closest charging in Kanab.
The terrain is pretty...
Nothing. I have a day 1 R2 reservation, but as details leaked out since then it became clear that it wouldn't work for me (not a good enough "adventure vehicle"). I picked up a R1S instead, and if my wife doesn't like the look of the R2 I'll give up my reservation.
I too notice my 2026 R1S wanting to follow the camber of the road, but on flat road I don't see this problem. Other threads I've read suggest it may be a tire issue.
Just curious - what issues do you have with Bluetooth? I use that method for audio exclusively, and as long as the source is active on my phone it works flawlessly.
I moved from a Jeep to my R1S last December, and I had two Viair compressors that I used for airing up. With the R1S I air down all four tires at the same time with a Thor's Lightning cable setup and air up all four at the same time with the built-in air compressor in the R1S. Much faster and...
No problems at all with my ICE buddies - I run with the local Jeep club and everyone has always been friendly. The UTVs though, that's a different matter entirely....
Took a trip from SW Utah to Moab last week in my new R1S. Charging in Beaver (Tesla), Richfield (Tesla), and Green River (RAN). Pretty painless trip overall, and Moab was fun as always.
I installed the 2025.46.0 update a couple of days ago, and I've been trying out Universal Hands Free. Today I tried it on a section of road knowing that I'd be ready to take over when I reached a traffic light ahead. The road layout has recently changed at that light, with a new left turn lane...
Once the roads open up again, one idea is to stay in Beatty and run in and out of the park as needed each day. I've done that in the past. The furthest point in the park I'd want to get to from Beatty is Racetrack Playa, which is about 100 miles each way.
If you are in the Capitol Reef area I recommend you check out the neighboring Factory Butte area and the Cathedral Valley loop if you have time. Definitely worth a visit.
I'm picking up my Gen2 R1S in about a week, but I've done many miles off road in a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. Another tip I'd add is if you aren't sure about a section of trail, get out and walk it in advance of trying to drive it.
This was a section of trail I ran earlier this year that...
