  1. Anyone else been here in a Rivian? (White Pocket, AZ)

I was here over the weekend, and given that I've never seen another Rivian off-road around here, I was wondering if anyone had explored this spot in Vermillion Cliffs National Monument in northern Arizona. It's definitely worth the trip, with closest charging in Kanab. The terrain is pretty...
  2. What Would Make You Dump Your R1 for an R2

One way I heard this captured was "I want a car that can't crash". I agree with that, but that's not where the focus of autonomous driving is.
  3. What Would Make You Dump Your R1 for an R2

Nothing. I have a day 1 R2 reservation, but as details leaked out since then it became clear that it wouldn't work for me (not a good enough "adventure vehicle"). I picked up a R1S instead, and if my wife doesn't like the look of the R2 I'll give up my reservation.
  4. Front window tinting - Lease

I too notice my 2026 R1S wanting to follow the camber of the road, but on flat road I don't see this problem. Other threads I've read suggest it may be a tire issue.
  5. 2026.03 Update Pushed! Now Installing

Just curious - what issues do you have with Bluetooth? I use that method for audio exclusively, and as long as the source is active on my phone it works flawlessly.
  6. Installing a VIAIR Compressor Possible?

I moved from a Jeep to my R1S last December, and I had two Viair compressors that I used for airing up. With the R1S I air down all four tires at the same time with a Thor's Lightning cable setup and air up all four at the same time with the built-in air compressor in the R1S. Much faster and...
  7. Sharing trails with ICE rigs: good, bad, or neutral?

No problems at all with my ICE buddies - I run with the local Jeep club and everyone has always been friendly. The UTVs though, that's a different matter entirely....
  8. SLVRon

    Utah Rivian Club

Took a trip from SW Utah to Moab last week in my new R1S. Charging in Beaver (Tesla), Richfield (Tesla), and Green River (RAN). Pretty painless trip overall, and Moab was fun as always.
  9. Random Rivian Photos of the Day - Post Yours! 📸

Onion Creek outside Moab Shafer/Potash trail Yes, still has the temp tags. I couldn't wait to get it on some interesting dirt.
  10. 2025.46 Update - Review (Gen 2 & Gen 1 Owner)

The 'best' solution was available in a few cars many years ago, and used GPS to figure out the appropriate speed.
  11. UHF Universal Hands-Free decided to switch lanes

I installed the 2025.46.0 update a couple of days ago, and I've been trying out Universal Hands Free. Today I tried it on a section of road knowing that I'd be ready to take over when I reached a traffic light ahead. The road layout has recently changed at that light, with a new left turn lane...
  12. Gloss or Matte PPF for 2026 LE Green R1S Quad

I had my 2026 R1S El Cap wrapped in XPEL Stealth (matte) and I can report that the metallic flecks in the paintwork are still very visible.
  13. Death Valley - charging?

Once the roads open up again, one idea is to stay in Beatty and run in and out of the park as needed each day. I've done that in the past. The furthest point in the park I'd want to get to from Beatty is Racetrack Playa, which is about 100 miles each way.
  14. National Parks - those that impressed you unexpectedly

If you are in the Capitol Reef area I recommend you check out the neighboring Factory Butte area and the Cathedral Valley loop if you have time. Definitely worth a visit.
  15. Trail damage prevention: what’s worked best on your Rivian?

I'm picking up my Gen2 R1S in about a week, but I've done many miles off road in a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. Another tip I'd add is if you aren't sure about a section of trail, get out and walk it in advance of trying to drive it. This was a section of trail I ran earlier this year that...
  16. Hardwire Midland MXT275 GMRS 2-Way Radio with rear 12V power tap (R1S)

Another alternative to tapping into the 12V wiring is to get a 12v splitter - effectively gives you two 12V outputs from one source.
  17. R2 Wish List?

Ability to conveniently carry a full-size spare, and an 18 inch wheel option.
