Completely agree. As a Tesla owner, I do my best to avoid non-Tesla charging stations as they can be a pain to use. We need to (and hopefully will) get to the same ease of use we see with a Tesla Super Charger or even a good ole gas station (pull in, pop in a card, hit go).
What I do find...
(Dating myself here)
Anyone remember those nasty rice crackers from the 80's that had all the appeal of eating ceiling tiles, had no flavour, and left you trying to not choke as you desperately went looking for some water to gag them down with (all in the name of being healthy)?
All 4 minutes...
She just keeps sitting there... staring into the flames, rocking back and forth slowly... muttering, "Soon" over and over again.
...maybe a bad idea to be camping with her.
Yeah... I'd expect around a grand in this area (PNW) for a basic treatment, however, I recommend making sure that whatever coating you get has a 9H hardness in the mix (it will bump the price up by about 50%). The more 9H layer you add, the more it will cost, but, also the more durable the...
100% this.
On my truck I have PFF and ceramic coat. The PFF protects it from door dings, rock chips, etc... the ceramic makes keeping it clean stupid easy (stuff just slides off).
As he points out, you need to have a maintenance program in place though and the ceramic is not a "forever"...
Uhhh... 100% true, I went through the process 3x.
Got a VIN and delivery date on that order for MY22 Audi (not MY21)?
And, as the link and supportive articles state, even a big ole legacy maker, still has issues communicating.
So... are you saying that every manufacturer needs to be explicit as to what state, city, and dealer will be getting the first batches?
Because, that's not how it works.. that's not how any of that works... even in a legacy dealership model. Even they get allotments and have no idea until...
Wheel/Rim size has a MASSIVE impact on range.
Design of the rims also has an impact (how "smooth" they are versus how much churn they cause as they move through the air).
This guy summarizes nicely: Why Big Wheels Are A Bad Idea On Electric Cars - Range Impact!
I will note, I was super impressed by the level of thought they put into it. The T-Slides/Locks and modular design is more than I was expecting and helps alievate some worries I had around storage (one of the reasons I didn't opt for it).
I'm now second guessing not adding it on (since the Tax...
Not disagreeing with you, it would be great if they could, in July, deliver all 80k (or however many orders they have) in one big push, but, I suspect it will be several months due to many factors.
Devils advocate, the order info only says "Delivery start in July", technically, if one person...
My wife is a GIS Tech as well, I asked her to do this in ArcGIS... she told me to go to hell.
SeaGeo and Little O'Annie are officially my heroes.
It looks like Rivian is not only trying to build out an adventure network (trailheads, beaches, etc...), but also looking to replicate parts of the...
Ya really want to stick to your guns on this one?
1,000 cars took 2 YEARS to hit all of those locales.
To follow your logic, they needed to geofence their ordering to specific cities +/- a hundred miles or so. You think people are pissed now that they have to wait, can you imagine how pissed...
It's actually an established process.
Tesla did the exact same thing.
If your position is, "They should open Service Centers and Show Rooms and do deliveries in all 50 major metropolitan centers in the US all at once", I would refer you back to my point about funding being a finite resource...
While I totally understand the frustration of the order number not dictating delivery order, I also fully understand that the last thing Rivian wants to have is someone in Two Dot Montana (real place) suffer a breakdown or issue, be told "A repair/recovery crew is on the way, they will be...
I use an IceCo 12V fridge/freezer chest (VL35) and a Jackery 500 with a 100w solar panel for mine when I go out camping.
My combo is a fair bit more expensive, but I can run the fridge pretty much non-stop for weeks with the setup (and also charge oodles of other things).
Very cool though.
I'm in the same boat as a few folks above, somewhat shocked by the interior size dimensions.
It's wider than my RAM 1500 (barely, but still), but has vastly vastly less hip and shoulder space?
I expected the leg room in the back to come down a bit from my RAM, so I'm not too shocked there...
I almost guarantee it.
Seattle/Bellevue, we already have a Service Center being put in/nearing completion and they are opening a showroom in DT Seattle.
It would make sense that those cities that they are putting those investments in first, will see deliveries sooner than others.
I have never, in my life, ever, seen a company roll out a major new product and dump out their purse on the ground and tell you everything.
Video games don't even do this, why would you expect a car company to do it?
They will trickle feed the tidbits to keep the press releases flowing and...
