What would you prefer?
A Rivian R1T that doesn't have the newest stuff on it after the refresh
A Rivian R1T that does have the latest stuff on it made after the refresh
Sure we don't know what changes will be made and suspect that some of them could take things away from the vehicle.
All we...
I might.
I say I might is it really comes down to personal preferences for things like Motor Noise. Drive train noises, suspension noises, etc
My current R1T makes far too much noise. Mostly in drive train noise.
It's a 6XXX series VIN and I believe the later ones fixed most of the noise...
The problem with this chart is it doesn't tell you the two most critical factors. Those are time and temp.
Additionally it doesn't tell you useful miles.
Like it has 75% to 65% looking better than 75% to 45%, but how many extra miles would that actually get someone? Their range between...
It's pretty engrained into most EV owners that leaving a battery at a high state of charge for a long time is bad.
The issue is understanding why this occurs, and how long is okay. If I'm going on a road trip tomorrow then obviously I'd prefer to charge to 100% while I'm sleeping versus...
It still has the glitch where it will I'll be driving through Tacoma, WA on I5 and it will suddenly do a re-route despite the fact that I haven't left I5.
What really annoying is that it when it does this I'll suddenly lose a good 10 miles of range on the estimated range left. The range does...
Its funny to how were always worried about what we think is doing to happen versus what is actually going on.
What were worried about - Arguments ensuing over a non-Tesla taking up a charging port.
What typically happens - An EV owner shows up at a mostly empty Supercharger and has no worry...
My charging habits are built around my needs, and my understanding of battery longevity. Where I don't do anything that would drastically harm the battery, but at the same time I try not to allow the vehicle to get in the way of my needs.
A few times a month I charge to 100% right before a...
I own a few pairs of heated gloves.
The interesting thing is when i went to Mammoth last winter I didn't bring the heated gloves at all because I didn't feel like they'd work well. Instead I double gloved it which worked wonderfully.
I also have a USB battery that can act either as a heater...
I'm basically a dead man walking so I need the energy it provides through my frozen hands.
The heated steering wheel in the Jeep was so nice. Heck I could have the top down on a fairly cold day and I'd get warmth from it, and the heated seats.
From my measurements even the Jeep was quite a...
I did comparison testing with my Jeep Wrangler, and it was significantly colder.
Like a good 10F+ plus. In googling it seemed to be on the bottom end in terms of warmth provided by the heated steering wheel.
Rivian did say the replacement one was to spec. The first one was defective where the...
There is a big difference between what a company would like to do, and what they actually do once companies push back.
I personally wasn't looking for full car play integration, but simply wanted a better navigation system.
Engineers like myself are the very last people you should be asking. :-)
Like me they'll look at it from an Engineering perspective and not a legal one. From an Engineering perspective there isn't much to the Adapters.
The problem with that is from a litigation perspective we could be liable...
I actually didn't like that the guide continued well after delivery was taken.
I'd rather take my chances with some random customer service person answering my emails.
At the very least it prevents a "Oh, it's you again..." moment. :P
What's the purpose of saying its in the app when it's not in the app?
There is no bug reporting feature in the app
There is no feature request feature in the app
There is only "Ask us anything" or "Request Service" or "Share feedback"
I've tried the first two routes for reporting a bug, and...
The interesting thing about that photo is it showed the wrong adapter.
I believe it was showing the adapter for destination L2 charging. Which is obviously not the right adapter.
I'm sure people will end up using the wrong adapter even with the approved adapter. Like if someone borrowed my...
Supercharging and the ability for the battery to accept a higher charge rate did substancially improve from my 2015 Model S to my 2018 Model 3P when they went to the V3 chargers.
With the 2015 Model S I was able to comfortable eat lunch with a charge.
With my 2018 with the V3 chargers there...
So basically $16 or so per gallon. :-)
I think the issue with any large EV is that its no longer much more economical to drive on a road trip than an equivalent ICE vehicle.
For most of my road trips I don't have to charge along the way so they're still economical. The road trip I take a...
