From my recollection this forum came to the conclusion that this was due to him doing high speed donuts on a soft surface.
It's amazing how much more often $hit happens when you're being reckless.
What I love about the photo it looks so innocent. Part of me wants to be charitable to the driver...
If I was the OP I would have taken the used replacement as there was no proof of negligence. The used replacement was really the best case scenario one could expect.
But, that's not what my post was about.
Our reality on what we consider an accident is one is of make believe.
Road raging =...
I'm a huge advocate for firing the customer as a few bad ones ruin it for everyone else. My understanding is that it ends up saving a company more money long term than the short term loss.
Sadly 90% of accidents happen due to ignorance of what happens when one is distracted by their cell phone. Or working while high.
So I'd want a BRAND NEW SPANKING Truck if whoever damaged my truck did so not because of an OOPS, but because they were either high or distracted.

Keeping the R1T
Selling the Diesel Camper Van :-(
Buying the R2 once the Lidar version is released
The R2 has some heavy competition so not sure how it will play out in the end.
It's less about my need and more about marketing.
The gear store is really about marketing. I don't really need to buy anything from them, but I would expect them to get the marketing right.
Overall the Rivian brand does a great job with marketing.
I think this questions really comes down to what manufactures are you comfortable with buying a product from, and what you're looking for.
When I got the R1T I was bored with passenger EV's and I wanted an adventure vehicle and the R1T/R1S was right up my alley. The biggest problem was deciding...
The worst part is they don't even show where they'd fit. I have a fridge that lives in the gear tunnel and its almost a perfect fit. Not quite as you have to rotate it to get it out. It also doesn't open that much when in the gear tunnel.
Unless you're a Canadian.
If you are I imagine you're pretty excited to Chinese EV's to land.
In any case having access to cheaper EV's generally means people will find a way.
Can you implement temperature dependent heated steering wheel?
I want the heated steering wheel to automatically come on when its cold out.
Or even just have it set to time of the year. If its winter then turn on the heated steering wheel.

At this point autonomous driving is a jobs creator. Not just any job, but extremely lucrative jobs.
Most autonomous driving end in colossal failures like Ubers on disastrous failure. Yet, companies continue to sink tons of money into them. For some reason investor eat it up.
I say this as an...
I haven't watched the video, but I intend to.
I regularly use my Camp Speaker when I work out on my elliptical machine. Where I turn it on and I wait to be blasted with the dong.
Then there is the tough part. What I mean by regularly is actually semi-regularly and my Apple Watch never...
The first Jeep Wrangler I owned didn't have a back seat at all. I'm pretty sure it didn't even have a passenger side mirror.
It was made sometime around the late 80's.
My rule is I'll pay for something where there is a cost to the manufacture to have it.
Subscriptions - Must require ongoing cost
Hardware - I have to be paying for something.
I generally refrain from pre-ordering and from paying for SW unlocks.
I think we need to kiss goodbye some of what we enjoyed in the past.
Hotel L2 charging - Especially ones included with the valet parking cost as it now seems to be a separate charge. One might think the valet solves the problem but they're often unreliable
L3 Charging while going on some...
I took it to mean that it was strange to open a RAN when there was already a Tesla Supercharger in the vicinity.
My understanding is that the usage of chargers in around the border is pretty high so the more the merrier.
Back in the day I had a motorized longboard that I used to grab lunch while charging my 2015 Model S.
I don't do nearly that much charging in my Rivian so I haven't really had the need. Plus there are so many charging options.
I did try to get my Boosted Scooter to fit in the gear tunnel but...
