Thank you for this data and link. Interesting and helpful.
I read the document and looked up the UDDS test procedure. Am I reading it correctly, that the 118 kWh shown in the data is not the size of the battery, but rather how much energy was used to recharge the battery, including charger...
I used numbers that were available for all of the vehicles to have comparable numbers. As you just stated, the actual numbers are not the same as any of the published numbers, so one has to look for a common starting point and extrapolate from there.
I agree, but actual energy usage data is...
For consistency, the source of information for energy consumption is the EPA. 2020 Tesla Model X Performance (22in Wheels) (fueleconomy.gov)
They provide 2 different energy consumption numbers that I am still researching. The first is shown as 43 kW/100 mi. The second is calculated...
It will be interesting to see the Drag Coefficient and Energy consumption for the R1S when the official figures are released. In the meantime, it is interesting to speculate using the available data and comparable vehicles.
This photo shows the Drag Coefficients for various vehicles, including...
I realize that they don't know yet. I thought the tread was asking what new information are we excited to receive?
btw: I have owned a Model X for just shy of 5 years, so I have a pretty good idea of actual range vs published. I towed my 5,000lb boat from Florida to Georgia using both of...
It is early, but not too early, to see clear trends as much can be gleaned from the data and related comments throughout the threads.
The 17% is not likely to go down, but may increase. The 17% are those that have already decided to opt away from the LE and go for a selection that delivers...
I hope these numbers don't turn out to be the final dimensions.
For example:
The second row leg room is not good:
R1S: 36.7"
Model X: 38.4" (and this is really tight for an adult)
Model Y: 40.5"
On another forum there is a log of preorders. That data is very similar to this poll:
About 23% of R1T preorders have opted to wait for the 400mi battery (22% here and 24% on the other forum)
About 40% of preorders are for the R1S (38% here and 42% on the other forum)
About 8% of R1S...
I have both a six seater and a seven seater Model X. By far, I prefer the six seater for usability, access to the third row and access for my 105lb Goldendoodle.
I used to have a six seat Navigator and loved that as well.
I am curious to see if, that given the option, people would prefer six...
There is limited data, but so far it shows 25% of the R1T deposits are skipping the LE and opting for the other options that deliver later in 2022. The R1S does not show anyone waiting. Is this because the R1S does not have a date for the larger battery?
I completely agree. That is why I referred to it as their "sleeper" vehicle.
We are about to celebrate our 5th anniversary of owning a Model X. While the X is great, the R1S is everything the X is, plus a whole lot more.
Thanks for the link. I had not seen that poll.
I am still curious about the LE version split between R1S and R1T. I believe that the R1S is their sleeper vehicle and is more popular than many perceive and the 400+ battery in R1T not being available until 2022, will increase the percentage of...
It would be interesting to see how many reservation holders opted for the Launch Edition vs the versions/options that become available in January 2022.
