Phew, under the wire Rivian! Just got mine this morning, June 30th. September/October order invite window.
My reservation dated March 12 2026, Seattle, R1S owner, LP config, Catalina Cove.
Happily my email states:
"Once you place your order and receive confirmation, you can expect to take...
I suppose I could/should have said "current" R2 reservations (as of June 1?).
I further suppose that "fair" (like beauty) is in the eye of the beholder. Is it "fair" that some unknown person who plunked down a mere $100 refundable deposit 2 years ago should have preference over an existing R1...
Polaris? Do you mean Borealis? If so that is not a Launch Edition color option until 2027.
So far, Rivian only really knows your reservation details, not your paint choice, etc. You might get a fairly early "order window" date, but if you do not act on it (with currently available color...
IMO the title of this thread is misleading. "By the end of June" we will not know an R2 "delivery" date, we will receive notification of an "order window" for our reservations.
If I were Rivian and had a spreadsheet of let's say some 200K R2 reservations, I might sort (prioritize) them...
I got my "R2 is ready for its close-up" config email at 08:30 am Seattle time Friday 15th! R1S owner, LE wanted, but my R2 reservation dated March 12 2026 so pleasantly surprised to be receiving this so early.
As configured my R2 LE will be $61,215 (CC paint, AT tires, mats).
It'll be...
Thanks, some good info on this thread but I'd like to read some more specificity between "sales" and "deliveries".
Do we think any Rivian employee (VIP or not) has yet purchased and received (by any means necessary) a production R2 (and is therefore a "customer" in my lexicon)? I try to choose...
I have a Forest Green 2026 R1S with Black Mountain + Dark Ash interior. The "Black" is to my eye a (classy) dark grey (with green accents).
Personally, I want my car interior to pair well with the exterior color (and climate). Here in Seattle I couldn't imagine a light interior with the Forest...
Based on less than 6 months experience with my R1S Dual Max you have hit on 2 of the few but substantial (and surprising) weaknesses of an otherwise excellent vehicle.
For my (senior) sensibilities, current UHF is just too "loosey goosey" for anything other than straight freeway driving and...
It seems to me the answer to your question is that with preconditioning you will pay (a bit?) more to charge more quickly, so the choice is entirely yours - cheaper or quicker?
