As already mentioned, ugh 21 inch wheels. There are going to be a couple people keeping their cars longer than one set of tires last, we want tire choice! Hopefully there is a 20 inch option for LE that doesn’t drive the price way up. And looks good.
I recently reviewed all the stuff I think I need in the Rivian: charger and all the adapters, recovery ropes and shackles, towing and hauling stuff, tire change stuff (floor jack, jack pucks, breaker bar). It’s a lot.
I guess with respect to this thread, the floor jack is what I am comfortable...
I notice the fan is not kicking on. I guess with limited knowledge of the system I don’t know if it has a standard switch and relay somewhere or if it comes on from a computer. When the battery gets super hot while charging, does the radiator get hot coolant going through it? What if you force...
I’m assuming you looked at the degassing bottle that is also right behind the damaged area. Apparently some undamaged Rivians are having that item crack leading to unspecified coolant problems that Rivians detects but doesn’t ever tell anyone about other than they need to replace it.
I am really unsure if it’s related but-2026.03 did something with battery temp monitoring that makes it super sensitive. I now get reduced regen from high battery temps regularly on hills where I never did before the update.
the battery-motor coolant flow has never seemed ideal for the huge...
Some other forums have people who previously bought the Ohmu lithium battery and were given this sodium battery a while ago to test. There may be some reviews out there by now. I’m surprised nobody here has posted about getting and using the sodium battery.
What I find disappointing about this update is that, like the OP, I have not seen any of this cold weather stuff displayed. I absolutely have a range impact from coldish weather. Maybe it’s not strictly less battery capacity per se, but definitely noticeably lower efficiency when temps are...
You can see and touch the a/c compressor with the cowl panel off. If Rivian won’t look at it it might be worth getting in there and seeing if anything is loose. Or have someone turn the a/c on and if the noise starts up start grabbing things and feeling for vibrations. With as loud as that is in...
The air suspension compressor will run even while the vehicle is not adjusting. Mine runs often after parking and unloading. And the vehicle can adjust without running the compressor. It has an accumulator that stores air pressure. The key is to see if it also always occurs after adjusting a...
for the OP, was the noise occurring at the same time as the suspension sag and is still ongoing? Or started after suspension sag repair? Does it correlate to HVAC use like the other person?
If it is HVAC related, did someone not tighten the a/c compressor back down after replacing other stuff...
You are going to Tualitin 3/17 anyway? I think once you are driving it shouldnt be a problem; drive straight through without stopping if possible. If it were me I would hook up a battery tender/maintainer, that might help keep it full enough in the next two weeks to not completely fail. Maybe...
If the shock is leaking internally (blown valve/seal) you won’t see anything. Previously suggested “bounce test” is a good start; the only way I can think of to test without disassembly and inspection is to take the shocks off the vehicle and compare how much force it takes to compress/extend...
A story of warning about trade-in in general here: I declined a trade-in deal that was about $5000 less than market value (about 25% of vehicle value) because I fumed for years about knuckling under on the last trade-in I did.
Prepping the car for sale after a big atmospheric river event, the...
Random guess is a dead 12v. It sounds like you are waiting for mobile service to do any diagnosis; I would be so impatient that I would be out there looking at it. I’d first check for voltage at the trailer plug (not the jump leads) and also go about getting the frunk open to access the battery...
“I wish the service history in the app would show all the vehicle service not just what the current owner has had done.”
Rivian will send you those documents via email if you ask. Won’t appear in the app but the info is all there.
Rivian started out with all motors putting out as much power as they were comfortable warrantying. When they came out with Sport mode, they had to pull power from the fronts to get a rear power bias. It seems like someone decided that 45 mph is the point where the trade off between rear power...
I’m interested in this, but wonder what else might be required and possibly unobtainable. Most manufacturers have a bit of software, separate from the diagnostic software, for “engineering”-coding modules and such. From a completely separate post it sounds like on a Rivian, even door handles...
One key detail I discovered through careful reading and questioning: xcare will not pay for a second replacement of an item they have paid for once. Their explanation was that those items are usually covered by a new parts warranty, and the guy said xcare has never received a request for a 2nd...
