I definitely don’t disagree with that argument. Perhaps I’ve just become used to the Model 3/Y UI and am now more accustomed to a slightly longer reach. Although unlikely, maybe we can hope for a little customization in that regard. Guess we’ll find out soon.
Yes, I went back and edited my original post to clarify that this is from the older blue R1T prototype. Even at that time (Feb 2020) they were saying some parts of the interior would change for production. Now if they would just do the interior deep dive already!
I also thought it was pretty dark at the time, but could see how that might change a bit depending on the lighting.
Edit: I should add that this was the blue prototype truck that Skyote was referencing, so some things have likely changed in the interior.
I've been running without a front plate in TX now for about 4 years. I do have the Quick Bandit license plate holder for my Model Y that just clips on to the bottom front bumper grille, and I'm hoping there will be similar options for Rivian in case you feel it's necessary to put one on real...
I clicked through to see what was fresh, and I appreciate that they’ve elaborated more on some of the previous info that has been released. There are also a few new tidbits that are nice to see.
We’re just getting mighty close to the current release timeframe and I’m eager for that new new info...
Bajadahl mentioned there’s a “false floor” that makes It easier to access smaller/fewer items in the trunk if you’d like to use it. I had previously only ever seen the frunk fully accessible like this:
Looked like the Rivian member may have been explaining the door handles at about ~1:13. Did you catch any of that? I just want to know why they're hardly ever sitting flush on all of these prototypes (other than being prototypes ?).
Edit: Just listened again and sounds like the guy asks if...
This is how the Model Y is as well (presumably Model 3 too?). Maybe the wiper placement helps with aerodynamics? They also have to be able to clear off the top of the windshield for the front facing cameras.
