I didn't expect this as one of my initial problems, but with EVs I know I should be prepared for anything...
Has anyone experienced issues with the Rivian wall charger? I have a feeling that something is not right with the charger itself, assuming my electrician did not botch the install. As of...
VIN assigned 1/19, delivered 2/17 in the Bay Area, CA. My guide had been telling me that my truck hadnt been shipped until week 3, then suddenly said his info was wrong and had been in a train for over 2 weeks. ?‍♂️
Now that I have my R1T delivered, I need something else to be impatient about. Currently it’s wondering when the truck will decide it’s ready to update to the latest software release.
I picked up mine on Friday, and I’ve had at least 6 people stop and admire the color, let alone ask what sort of vehicle it is. I think the yellow makes it stand out and causes people to make a double take and ask “what is that?”
Picked up my CY + OC today in the Bay Area. What's funny is that I've had more unsolicited comments from people about the color than I can remember about my previous cars in several years. People seem to really like it!
I've been playing with the Union Pacific website, and found an "intermodal schedules" page that estimates shipping times. Not counting first and last mile (eg. truck to/from depot), UP has a 5-day transit from Chicago to Oakland. Also similar (5 days) to LA.

Based on my experience with my guide, they get "reports" that tell them high level status. And the reason why my R1T hadn't shipped for 3 weeks since 1/20 was because there was an "error in the report" that was only seen after my guide went to his manager.
Based on all of the changing facts of...
I wonder if there are trains constantly dropping off vehicles (more deliveries with fewer vehicles), or if there is something like a bi-weekly or monthly train that has fewer deliveries but larger batches.
Fingers crossed. 1-2 weeks sounds like a long time for final checks, but I assume it's more about the quantity of vehicles rather than the checks themselves.
So, get this. I pinged my guide again today, and reiterated that the truck has been waiting for shipment for 3 weeks. He decided to go up the chain a bit to get more information, and apparently my truck has been on a train for the past 2 weeks. Not sure how that happens; I would have...
