  1. 8 Steps to Finish!!-Delivery Scheduled for Mar 7!!

Great observation. We will know more next week. If contacts slow way down then we know Rivian is trying to game the system. I really hope that isn’t the case but I would not be surprised. History repeats itself.
  2. 8 Steps to Finish!!-Delivery Scheduled for Mar 7!!

I was thinking the exact same thing! Production, transportation, PDI, delivery in 1 week, no way. Heck, just the drive from Normal to Seattle (2,042 mi) or Normal to LA (1,992 mi) should take about 31 hours of driving. I don’t know how many hours commercial truckers can legally drive in a...
  3. Anyone seen price “restored” in configurator?

Yeah, my comment was definitely not the “right” way to do it. Your solution is, as long as that’s how they are doing it. Their website does not appear to be a priority for them and therefor probably run by a college intern. I would also be very surprised if there is any connection to their...
  4. Vermont DISREGARD

The difference is that you need to have the financial ability (credit) to do the first one and Rivian has no control of what you do with your assets. The second option is free money, and Rivian is not the government. The reservation is yours, but the truck is still Rivians. They can sell or...
  5. Did anyone else get a phone call from Rivian last night?

I don’t think desperation as they would be happy for some cancellations. I think it’s more like they need to figure out how to proceed and set delivery schedules all over again.
  6. Anyone seen price “restored” in configurator?

You all are making a HUGE assumption that Rivian actually has a backup! ? As an IT guy, the quick, easy, and dirty solution would have been to restore the server snapshot prior to the change. That takes minutes to hours, not days. I am pretty sure there were no new orders placed that woul be...
  7. It Is happening!!!! My R1T delivery in 4-6 weeks!

Now just imagine that the phone app would start your vehicle and you could drive it away! ?
  8. Third Row Seat Removable/Space Savings - Illustration and longish discussion

A while back, I asked CS about removing the third row. They said it wasn’t designed for quick removal but it can be removed. It sounded like the four bolt setup @crashmtb mentioned. Removable but inconvenient. That conversation convinced me 7 seat was the way to go.
  9. Back to news on deliveries.

I’m guessing everything related to Rivian stopped yesterday. It will take a few days for them to figure out how to restart. This little mistake probably cost them a week of time. looking forward to more contacts and deliveries.
  10. A funny effect of the price disaster

I’ll take that refund to cover my stock losses. I wasn’t really ready to take an early delivery of 2 Rivians. I was hoping to push my second one to 2023 for tax purposes. That may still be possible.
  11. A funny effect of the price disaster

Maybe they should put all the restored reservations to the end of the line. Take care of those of us who stood with them! ;)
  12. What’s at the Venice Hub today

If it was an R1S, I would have predicted food poisoning from my lunch, requiring me to go home for the rest of the afternoon. :CWL:
  13. Leadership

Who is the least Bro of the Bros? Who will RJ have to take to dinner and stick with the bill? It will be someone well compensated to take the fall. Probably have to be someone willing to walk away from a career in the automotive and tech industries. This will be a Platinum Handshake.
  14. Who's Still In?

Yep, I’m a solid zero. I don’t NEED this vehicle, but I sure did want it. I am concerned that Rivian is in deep trouble, that is why I will probably only convert one order then sell it when my Silverado EV comes in. Who knows, maybe there will be a 300+ mile Jeep Wrangler in the near future.
  15. Who's Still In?

Well, I was in for one LE and one non-LE. One was going to be T and the other S. Now, I’m not so sure I will pick up both. I think I will push as long as possible and require that I see the R1S in person since that’s the one I most likely will keep.
  16. Keeping LE vs other options

I’m not that set on an EV. As a matter of fact, I am now looking to replace my GMC 3500 with a new one. I was going to keep it and add the Rivian, but now thinking just get a new truck. Solves all of my issues and will probably save me $40k.
  17. Keeping LE vs other options

Even with your fully loaded ICE SUV, you will save in the long run. If gas hits and stays at $5/gallon and your SUV gets 20 mpg, you will have enough savings for 80K to 120K miles just in the price difference of the vehicles (not considering charging costs).
  18. Did Amazon also get an increase?

I am curious how much Mr. B has to pay now for his delivery vans?
  19. Latest OTA Updates Adds Surround View Camera

I think (hope) yesterday's price increase is how they are going to get the extra revenue. :-) If they incurred increased expenses of $10K and added $20K to the price...BAM they just met one of their IPO stated goals.
