Instrumented tests, and in-depth evaluation of critical features are what I look for.
"I don't like the plastic they use" or "My BMW is nicer" is useless: All modern cars under $250k are plastic, and my last drive in a 2020 BMW 535 didn't impress me when compared to virtually all other brands.
I sold at $100 just now and put $4k way towards the purchase.
Las Vegas is all about when to walk away from the table.
If things look good next quarter, I'll buy back in.
So the R1T will spank the MachE GT and send it to bed without supper. Ditto for the I-Pace and any non-P series Tesla.
It wasn't too long ago that running 11.9 in the quarter required a welded in rollbar and a fire jacket.
I watched the video on the ACH DSP transfer process:
A) There is no "DSP" account.
B) The MS account balance on the Transfer screen is wrong.
C) 1/2 the time you enter the MS site from the link, it crashes. It's not passing the parameters correctly is a good guess: " An error occured while...
It ends up at the final screen and says Pay by ACH or Pay by Wire.
Then I select ACH, and you need to go to Morgan Stanley, which is already funded.
But ...
Nothing. No way to pay.
Oh, for those that don't know, that track in Carson, CA is the Porsche Experience Center LA. You can borrow nearly any model Porsche and test it out there. I ran the Porsche Taycan Turbo S on that track chasing a 911 Turbo S.
That was a better than average review. The fact they actually weighed it, and did instrumented testing with real range testing is unusual.
A Doug D review: "Uh, the brochure says ..."
The reason for optimism is in a single word: Amazon. They keep upping their stake in Rivian, and they are famous for picking the right path to success.
I set up the Morgan Stanley acct per the link and funded it, then added funding to cover the change in target price. Then for giggles I tried to buy a few shares of major NYSE stock, and it blocks me, saying this account isn't for buying stock. Huh? It has the mechanism there to buy stock...
I participated in the F-150 live exhibit, but they did not let us drive, they only let us ride along through an AutoX course. It's a well-thought-out project. It will certainly give Rivian a run for their money, but I think the off-road and sport enthusiasts will want the R1T instead, I know I do.
IIRC, under the FAQ's there is an answer, and it's that the shares are fully liquid once the transaction completes, but MUST be initially purchased from the MS acct.
