  3. Electrek - Tesla and SpaceX announce $25B ‘Terafab’ chip factory — here’s why it reeks of desperation

That didn’t take long. ā€œIntel is proud to join the Terafab project with @SpaceX, @xAI, and @tesla to help refactor silicon fab technology. Our ability to design, fabricate, and package ultra-high-performance chips at scale will help accelerate Terafab’s aim to produce 1 TW/year of compute.ā€...
  4. What Did You Expect To Use… But Actually Never Do?

I used the long Gear Guard cable everyday for 2.5 years to secure a bicycle rack placed on the truck bed. I used the extra length to secure a bike on the rack during a quick stop. It prevented ā€œcasual theftā€. Then I switched to leaving my Interrobang tonneau cover on, and placing the bike...
  5. lost small snake in seat back

I think the request was for meant for serious advice, though it is technically correct any advice was appreciated. And silly advice can also help temporarily distract you in a really difficult situation. OP, we are all feeling discomfort as well. How is the kid doing? Gotta be rough. Good luck
  6. lost small snake in seat back

Garage the vehicle, close it up, AC on. On the floor, heating pad warm, as well as water, and a camera showing the area with a motion sensor. And wait and hope. Maybe open up the seat as well. Basically, you have to hope the snake survives, comes out, you see it, and don’t scare it away when...
  7. Quick Couple of Days at Joshua Tree NP

Be careful hiking in JTNP if everywhere looks like a trail. In January 2020, I was doing the Barker Dam loop, and three times I had people approach me because they were lost while trying to find the parking lot for their car. You have to be able to get the bearing and time/distance to your...
  8. Worst truck ever. Bib fails and your done. No heat. No power just hours of beeping in a winter storm for 5 hrs.

Did a hard reset help? Opened and closed the gear tunnel doors to make sure they are closed?
  9. Locked Out

Phone, key card in wallet, and watch with Rivian app. Too bad I can’t get my children to keep a key on their phone so they could unlock the truck remotely.

  11. Electrek - Tesla and SpaceX announce $25B ‘Terafab’ chip factory — here’s why it reeks of desperation

That was a great video! I can’t wait for more. Of course, Dr. S didn’t promise to be producing leading edge chips at scale. That’s because Dr S isn’t scamming investors.
  12. Electrek - Tesla and SpaceX announce $25B ‘Terafab’ chip factory — here’s why it reeks of desperation

Rivian will likely always have to use contract manufacturers to make their chip designs. I don’t see how Rivian can generate enough volume to justify being more than a very small customer for a fab.
  13. V2 Powered Tonneau Cover ($3300 installed) now listed in Rivian Gear Shop

Last I heard after several appointments were rescheduled was a parts shortage was the problem and we’ll call you to schedule installation when we get parts.
  14. Electrek - Tesla and SpaceX announce $25B ‘Terafab’ chip factory — here’s why it reeks of desperation

Semiconductor fabrication performed at scale is the most complicated and difficult human endeavor ever. Wafers are difficult. EUV lithography is difficult. Water purification is difficult. Packaging is difficult. TSMC Arizona has been a very difficult project and TSMC copied as closely as...
  15. R1T Bike Transport - Range Impacts

Didn’t notice any impact when I had a fork mount in the bed near the tailgate and a road bike. I used that setup for over 2 years. The downside is I would climb into the bed and had to be careful not to fall. I haven’t noticed any impact with the crossbars and two Thule bike racks with one...

in the road lane where road engineers think cyclists should position themselves. Cars drive over that area as well
  19. A good time to own an EV - Gas Prices about to go nuts [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS]

Bike lanes do have a problem: they collect road debris like stones, glass, and tiny wires from tires. Cyclists tend to ride where the cars ride because that is the lowest probability of a puncture. So cyclists are upset they can’t use a bike lane full of debris they can’t necessarily see...
