  1. Such a bummer that I can't power my house with this massive battery.

Running something like an A/C unit off an extension cord is more likely to damage the A/C unit due to a voltage drop caused by the extension cord. Always use as short an extension cord as possible, and get the heaviest extension cord you can (8 awg if possible).
  2. NYT: Tesla chief executive’s polarizing statements have alienated some potential customers

I own a R1T. When we were shopping for an EV for my wife we test drove a Model Y and for comparison the Ionic 5. It was shocking to me how poorly built the Y was and how well built the Ionic 5 was. Certainly the Tesla had advantages in software and charging facilities, but not nearly enough to...

  4. A2Z NACS To CCS1 Adapter Review

Tesla is not Rivian. The company I worked for lost a lawsuit on similar terms. They lost because the part in dispute was not manufactured in house. If the A2Z adapter caused damage to the Rivian, and was used as directed then A2Z would be on the hook. If the Tesla adapter caused damage to the...
  5. A2Z NACS To CCS1 Adapter Review

The adapter that Rivian supplies is a “third party adapter”.
  6. Got my Rivian NACS Adapter

You mean 2026. I took delivery 8/23. There were almost 50k vehicles built before mine. It appears they have shipped 3-4k adapters in 3-4 months. Do the math. That’s why I bought the A2Z adapter. I figure I’ll use it for a couple years and sell it (or the Rivian adapter) to someone who has a...
  7. How I Know Cybertruck Pre-Orders have TANKED on Sales

50% less ugly means it goes from 0-Ugly in 2 seconds instead of one.
  8. First Road Trip: Los Angeles to Sequoia National Park. Elevation Change Effect on Miles!

I deal with this weekly driving I 80 between Park City and Salt Lake City with a 3000 ft elevation change. The Rivian software nails the range every time. 4 m/kwh going down and 1.25 m/kwh going up. I’ve found that setting cruise control at 70 going down, and 65 going up maxes range. Probably...
  9. Garage opens but doesn’t close

My steering wheel button only works if I hold it for 2-3 seconds.
  10. 2024.19.04 software update now installing! Share your impressions & reviews

Typical. There are 100,000 cars to update. You’ll get it, be patient.
  11. More Cybertruck issues

  12. Next Batch of NACS Adapters Shipping to Rivian Owners!

I’m the same timeframe as you. I just bought the A2Z adapter. I figure that once you and I get ours we will still be in front of 80% of Riv owners and can get my money back from one of them.
  13. TPMS sensors - does the Rivian no longer automatically sync new sensors?

I did a tire rotation at a local shop and my TPMS was inoperative after. I brought it back to them and they were able to sync them with a small handheld device in a couple of minutes, then I had to drive for a while until it resynced. I bet any tire shop will do this for you at n/c.
  14. Price went up $8,150 for Gen2, am I missing something?

There is a huge market of people who have had a CT on order for years (and might still have years to wait) are hearing too many horror stories, and have a $100k budget for a “faster than 2.5 s 0-60”.
  15. Discontinuation of 21” wheels

21” tires are the most efficient tires for the Rivian. If you go to their site you will see that 21” road tires get 25-30 miles more range. Worst for range are all terrain tires.
  16. Anyone got Meridian Elevation in their 2023 R1?

My R1T has a 22xxx vin, it was delivered in 8/23 and has all Meridian labeled speakers.
