I use this exped megamat duo for all of our car camping. Fits in the tent nicely, sleeps two and the dog if needed and it's super comfy. Have slept on this summer through the middle of winter snow camping and no complaints. Would suggest getting a powered inflator to expedite setup but the...
I don't think it updates as frequently. I always set my phone to navigate in parallel with the R1. Yesterday going to pickup my son Google Maps showed 25 minutes. Rivian map showed 10 and never updated traffic to show the slowdown/stoppage on the way there.
Two weeks in, I've not found Alexa to do anything well. Never plays the song or artist requested, when I ask for directions to someplace a few miles away e.g. Costco, all the options presented are for Costco locations 10-20 miles away, searching for a business that is named on the Rivian Nav...
Lack of satellite radio was a massive oversight IMO. Downloading playlists to a phone works but it's also illegal in many states to be using a mobile phone when driving and Rivian hasn't seen fit to provide anything close to a decent phone integration at this point.
Love to read stories like this. I've got a couple longer trips on I-5 this summer from WA down to Stockton area and looking forward to the drive for the first time in many years but also a bit curious how the drive will be factoring in recharge stops. I usually drive Seattle>Redding>Stockton...

These all seem great, but it also seems that there are issues with all of these and at this point not sure if leaving phone, key fob in the car and relying on the wrist band would be a good idea or not?
Keeping an eye on that channel for their DIY camp kitchen. It had occurred to me that it might be possible to build a slide out box with a cook top etc.. for a lot less than $5K, so curious to see what they come up with.
I'm not sure if the Rivian Blue is worth the $ but my test drive was in a blue R1T back in December and FWIW it looked great and I ended up swapping color from Silver to Blue as a result.
Also in Seattle and have experienced the tire spin on rainy days on the hills downtown and on some of the neighborhood streets, especially when I lived in Magnolia. It's not been an issue with my current car (Ascent) but happened all the time with FWD or RWD only car's I've had.
For the R1T...
