  1. R1 issues for new owners

If it’s thinner than what is normally used in luxury cars I am surprised it has any texture at all ?
  2. Does Driver+ (Self Drive) Work?

Interesting. Never had mine behave that way and I have definitely overridden it for more than 3 seconds as it hugs the right line too close to tractor trailers. You would think someone would have pointed this out in response to the hundreds of “lane centering doesn’t actually center“ posts on...
  3. Aftermarket Truck Bed Extender?

I wonder if he was thinking about the requirement to have redundant brake/tail lights on the bumper if the primaries are mounted on a movable panel like a hatchback? There are lots of vhicles that have these like the Bolt, Audi SUVs, etc that become active if the hatch is open. If so that...
  4. Can the Rivian Wall Charger charge an F150 Lightning

that’s my thought as well. No need for the fancy stuff to just use the truck as an emergency generator.
  5. Aftermarket All Season tires on the 20" wheel?

When you go to tirerack and Search tire options be sure to enter your vehicle as a R1T and then choose custom size with 275/60-20. The results will then be tires that fit the load/speed requirements for the truck.
  6. Who is this tool? "Just smoked a rivian that dared the Tesla Plaid"

Usually when some idiot posts about “smoking an X with my Y” they fail to realize they were in a “race” all by themselves. :CWL:
  7. Does Driver+ (Self Drive) Work?

This is the first time I've seen that claim. I've got 23k miles on my Mach E and have never seen the ability to control where in the lane the car "centers". Of course I can take control and move over a bit by hand but the car has always returned to its normal position when hands free. Most...
  8. Jul-Sep 2022 Delivery Group (Pre price hike)

Mine had been “open” since I got a VIN and the 8 steps, but clicking it showed no dates available. Today it is grayed out. I have had no info on where the truck might actually be, just that is built.
  9. Some doors hard to close

yeah, it’s a little silly to think of with framed windows but implementing the auto window lowering that’s common on frameless windows would completely solve this and seem to be a simple way to head off owner complaints.
  10. Jul-Sep 2022 Delivery Group (Pre price hike)

That may explain why, as of today, my delivery step is grayed out.
  11. Starbucks Ads on my R1T? Wait? What?

If my truck starts ordering Starbucks it's gonna get sent off to one of the auction sites. Life's too short to drink that stuff ?
  12. Apple announces major updates to CarPlay

I've seen that concern but with the Mach E & CarPlay the latest Apples Maps reads the car's charge status and plans charging stops. Seems to work at least as well as the Ford system. I'm sure the Lightning will do it as well. Not sure if that capability has been picked up by other marques yet...
  13. Other Location Looking to Sell? Know this first!

I'm kinda hoping the queue of auction sales starts driving the resale price down so it's easier to justify keeping my truck when it arrives.?
  14. Delivery Status Hacks

Judging from those puddles Rivian must be outsourcing drivetrain components to BMW. I may have to reconsider… ?
  15. Took delivery yesterday: first impressions and Tesla comparison

That’s good news. Like many of us the power cover is my one real concern.
  16. Ask us Rivian R1T owners ANYTHING [AMA]!

I’m not really to one to reply to since I don’t particularly care for the feature, but I agree it’s something that could be addressed with an update.
  17. Compartment heat: Frunk and Gear Tunnel

Good reminder that the frunk isn’t a “cooler”, it’s a plastic tub with a drain. Just like similar compartments on any other vehicle.
  18. Ask us Rivian R1T owners ANYTHING [AMA]!

Easy entry/access has been around a long time and not really a “Tesla thing”. I am ambivalent to it but kinda surprised it isn’t on the Rivians.
  19. The Built In Navigation Solution

I'm one of those for which being on time means being early ?
  20. The Built In Navigation Solution

Bingo! Google Maps is my favorite in day-to-day situations since it show real-time options at intersections including the time impact of that option (the gray paths that say things like "similar ETA" or "+2 minutes"). I find that fantastic on normal driving and no one else does it that way. It...
