considering how mediocre CCS charging is, they shouldn't have needed any additional fire lit under them to motivate them to build as quickly as possible, but CCS is a stupid bulky connector and I'd rather everything just use NACS on the merits of its design. CCS is just what happens when...
I love the truck overall, but the tocking noise has gotten so loud people have started asking about it when they ride in the truck. You can hear all 4 just clunking back and forth (and frequently all separately if you're not going straight). This is a pretty simple mechanical issue that no other...
I have no idea why removing one of the 3 items in the vehicle menu to get down to 2 options there while further complicating the settings (when these aren’t settings) made any sense to Rivian. I’m sure they plan to have more stuff on the vehicle page, but we are a lonnnng way from the trip...
What type of gate opener is yours? Mine has not worked so far so I’m hoping to either change the opener or figure out what I can do to get it to work. Some people have had issues with the OEM garage door opener remotes not learning for the rivian, so I’m wondering if maybe it’s that.
I'm hoping my 3rd Rivian is 800V architecture. Those 800V cars pump some serious juice. 234kw on a 77kWh pack is 3C, and the best i've ever seen on my R1T is high 220s on our 135kWh pack (1.7C at the most). Of course, 3C on a 135 kwh pack (much less the max pack) would be over the charger's...
the camera from over the bed is much better than the one from the tailgate, surely the driver + system uses ones in the windshield and they must be better than the one in the grill or that explains a lot of why driver + is kind of mediocre.
Just bumping this again. Super annoying that they can't open gates. Having the ability to have a bunch of items to control would make it so every gate and garage in my life could be integrated into the truck and yet, no...
17k miles in 10 months and mine isn’t very confidence inspiring but it’s still working. I actually having lubed it and only have really cleaned the tracks once or twice. I don’t open it every day, but I’m sure between necessary openings and showing people, I’ve done it hundreds of times.
probably about as useful of an anecdote as any of the horror stories, but all the people I know with Teslas have been happy with them. I think the interiors are a weak point but they get the job done.
The seat can definitely be done in the field, and I think steering also. Early own when I had a mobile service visit, they replaced my steering wheel due to a blemish on the “leather”, and I’m pretty sure he did a recalibration after that, but I know he did the windows and the seats because he...
Considering selling my R1T. Going to miss it, but I've changed my second deposit to an R1S, and if I can make a profit on the R1T, I'll buy a diesel truck and when the R1S comes have all angles covered.

I found this very odd, but I was going less than 60 mph and it was still not improving the energy usage much at all. I thought about getting an absolutely full charge on the one long trip I attempted (one I knew was very marginal so had a backup option to tow it convoying) but I really don't...
Stopping every 60 to 80 miles and charging for an hour every time makes towing anything big and draggy just awful. I don’t tow my boat long distances but a few times a year and wanted so badly for it to be workable, but it just isn’t and it’s not even close to being solved with just pull through...
is the thermal throttling on the EA side? I've seen the message that charging is limited by station, but when i've been charging over 200kw and it drops it never gives that message and sometimes specifically gives the message that charging slowed while battery cools. I feel like it's the Rivian...
actually, the garage door opener at my family's mountain house wouldn't learn either, so clearly there's a limited range of equipment that's supported, but maybe the hardware is there and they just need to implement other types.
