L Cable is 100% optional. If you don’t like it, don’t install it ?? But honestly, unless you’re up under the dash taking photos of it, the cable is not really visible once installed and tucked in.

Our box mechanically actuates the lock Rivian fingers and secures into the camp speaker port. Doesn’t require electrical connection or any interaction with the screen. It’s not “locked”, it can be disengaged by pulling it out. Just the same as the camp speaker when it’s not “locked”...

Ours does not use the software at all. Because if anyone has the Rivian key / access to drive, they can simply unlock the camp speaker. This is why we added the optional cable lock. With the cable installed, you cannot unlock our box nor remove it from the vehicle without our lock key.

Note ICYMI: the RMaxx sled does have tie-down features in addition to the bolt bosses. We made these features to work friendly with bungees, tie-downs, ratchet straps, rope - whatever! Multiple tie-down features on all 4 corners of each side: also, note the RMaxx is a true 'single hand'...
