  1. Normal HVAC behavior?

They could use thermal mass to their advantage.... Two easy options: A metal heatsink provides thermal mass. You the resistive heater heats the heatsink, and the HVAC blows air across the fins to transfer the heat. The resistive heater is duty cycled, so it can be switched on/off as...
  2. Smart Watch as a Key?

Yes please! I don't understand why they can't create a simple silicone loop that can slide on ANY watch band. Simple, inexpensive, no batteries, and brand-agnostic!
  3. Took a road trip in my ICE vehicle. My thoughts...

I don't think so. We get "20 miles" of battery-only range when it's charged up. I agree that when it works the Rivian Driver+ implementation handles highway curves better. Unfortunately, the rest of the Driver+ implementation is significantly worse than Pilot Assist. For example: Only...
  4. Took a road trip in my ICE vehicle. My thoughts...

I do use "B" so I can manually {up|down}shift on mountain roads. I didn't realize it would provide better regen in the city. I'll try it.
  5. Normal HVAC behavior?

I haven't found one. Sometimes 70 blows A/C when it's 40 degrees outside and I have to increase to 72 to get some heat. But then it makes me uncomfortable to leave it there so I have to go back down to 70 or 68.
  6. Bed step

SPAM account. They post garbage to get the post count up and age the account then will start posting ad/referral links and even edit their past posts to add them in.
  7. Took a road trip in my ICE vehicle. My thoughts...

2022. I also had a 2019 XC60 T6 which I sold when I got my R1T. I enjoyed Pilot Assist in that too. It’s nothing special and doesn’t do ‘cool’ stuff, but my experience is it’s darn reliable and competent at LKAS and ACC.
  8. Normal HVAC behavior?

I can 100% confirm the seat heaters and ventilated seats work with my HVAC off. That is also how every other vehicle I've owned has worked. Can you double-check yours?
  9. Normal HVAC behavior?

Why is that funny? It SHOULD be available with HVAC off.
  10. Phone as a key PAAK ~not working: "Present a key to start your drive"

My iPhone XS Max was pretty reliable as PAAK. My iPhone 14 Pro Max is less reliable. I get the "present a key to drive" message a few times a week now... Even though it unlocked the vehicle less than 30 seconds earlier.
  11. Took a road trip in my ICE vehicle. My thoughts...

    If Volvo made a truck.....
  12. Took a road trip in my ICE vehicle. My thoughts...

Yes, the "automatic" climate control in the R1 is anything but automatic. https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/normal-hvac-behavior.12699/
  13. Took a road trip in my ICE vehicle. My thoughts...

The Blowing Rock RAN chargers are DCFC. They're not operational, as of yesterday, but once they come online they will be a nice addition to the area.
  14. Took a road trip in my ICE vehicle. My thoughts...

I took a day trip up to the mountains (Boone) to enjoy some snow tubing. It was only a single day trip -- no hotel or cabin stay. The location we were going is basically a charging desert. There's a lone 62 kW charger on plugshare. I wasn't willing to risk it. I figured it was an...
  15. Home Charging Advice

Depends on the use case. 40A charging should get ~20 miles per hour range gained. That is sufficient for most, but I wouldn't say it's not noticeable.
  16. Official Rivian Stories: R1T SOFTWARE UPDATE DETAILS - English - Version 2023.02.03

This may depend on your SC. The SC has returned my R1T twice with new software versions (second time I even asked them NOT to install any OTAs that happen to come out while my vehicle was in their custody -- a request which they ignored).
  17. Charging Habits

Do you actually NEED 100% to get to your destination or next charging stop? If not, stop charging to 100%.
  18. R1T Shop have any Launch Editions ?

It has happened, but you need to be a douche nozzle with a YouTube channel.
