  1. 2023.02.05 update caused bandwidth issues with our household internet

If you have only 25Mbps then I would just not connect the truck to your WiFi. That's not a lot to go around. I have gigabit and (as expected) I never notice any slowdowns.
  2. Normal HVAC behavior?

They delayed deliveries by over a year and blamed supply chains and logistics. If anything, they had extra time to dial in software. I shudder to think what the software would have looked like if they didn't have the pandemic to blame for delays.
  3. Normal HVAC behavior?

"auto" hvac should be making these adjustments automatically. What Rivian is selling as "auto hvac" is laugable.
  4. Charging Habits

No, it's not bad to Level 2 AC charge, as needed. I would avoid charging to 100% unless absolutely necessary. I haven't found a scenario where I need to do that, yet. I have charged to 85% a couple times, when it meant giving me a comfortable buffer to get to a charger or make my trip without...
  5. Normal HVAC behavior?

I'm not sure that I believe most of what that CS person said... But for sake of argument, let's assume it's all "true"... That's silly and my question is "what is the point of 'auto' hvac, then?"
  6. Subwoofer replacement, anyone?

music off, my R1T rattles. Music on, it rattles more. Music louder and it rattles even more.
  7. First Look at Premium Charging Plate

Can you share the thickness of the plate? I tried putting a relatively thin item (silicone coaster) between my phone and a MagSafe puck and it basically renders the magnets useless. The puck won’t even stick. I’m concerned with how well the MagSafe function will work with the pucks under the...
  8. magsafe charging speed using Rivian USBC

MagSafe requires 9V to deliver 15W. I haven't tested the Rivian USB-C ports, but it's possible they may only give 5V and not 9V?
  9. 12 volt frunk power outlet is back! > in my just-delivered 2023 R1T (mid 18000 VIN)

That's the old tub. Something isn't adding up. I don't know enough about auto manufacturing and VIN assignment to say what happened... Was your vehicle held back and the VIN re-issued? (seems unlikely?). Was old component inventory released into the production line? Were...
  10. Strategic error.

Same. Rivians offer on my trade was offensively low. Literally lower than the next-lowest offer by more than $10k.
  11. Normal HVAC behavior?

I don't understand why Rivian would send a mobile tech for something that seems to be a software defect affecting all R1 vehicles.
  12. First Look at Premium Charging Plate

FWIW, that product listing says it doesn't work with MagSafe?
  13. First Look at Premium Charging Plate

How strong is the magnetic hold through the top plate with the genuine Apple MagSafe pucks? I placed a preorder, but I didn't see a way to add additional top plates?
  14. Rivian won't calibrate aftermarket wheels

At this time, yes. Yes/no. Different brands handle it differently. Some brands provide no OEM-endorsed way for the end user to change wheel configurations (similar to Rivian). Others provide it as a setting in their center screens.
  15. Rivian won't calibrate aftermarket wheels

Yes, they definitely have different config settings for 20/21/22.
  16. Phone upgrade: any issues with PAAK phone as key or with app?

Make sure you have a RFID key card with you, as when you log into the Rivian app on your new phone it will NOT let you get into your Rivian... You must unlock the vehicle with another key and re-setup the phone key in the infotainment system.
  17. Official Rivian Stories: R1T SOFTWARE UPDATE DETAILS - English - Version 2023.02.03

Finally got the update, yesterday, I am not impressed. Stated range did show a large improvement — but driving my normal route I ended up back home with similar range remaining. I’m not convinced there is actually more range, but rather just a higher number reported. More testing will be...
