  1. Snow tires and rims

I'm guessing your suspension just isn't loving being that cold. It's happened to a few people in extreme climates, and is common with air suspension.
  2. Non-Magic Dock NACS in Rivian Nav

Exactly. I'm *assuming* he was joking, but who knows. People think some crazy shit.
  3. Custom Topo Maps Available On Click and Charge Premium Charger!

Do you have any examples of what some other custom topo maps that have been printed look like?
  4. 20" Inch Affordable high efficiency 20" wheels and 33" tires options (275/60R20)

like @Mtbaddict I'm curious how you're calculating the various efficiency and range numbers.
  5. Rivian Layoff 10% Staff and Lowers Production Forecast for 2024

You'd have been better buying Toyota stock in 2020 than Tesla too... The majority of their sells are R1S.
  6. Real world dual-motor and max-pack reviews missing?

"They" don't use it to calculate range. The EPA uses it to estimate energy efficiency. Look at the screenshot from Rivian's website and the energy used in the EPA tests. They're both 141kw.
  7. How does Rivian calculate the mileage range when EPA numbers say it is much less

EPA efficiency includes charging losses is part of it. You can look at their submitted documents to the EPA, the data is there if you really want to know the answer. Is where you live cold? Are you flooring it? I'm guessing you have a dual motor variant? Any signs of alignment issues? My...
  8. Fisker Ocean review: ouch

Parsing words a bit here, but he did say worst he's reviewed, not driven (at least per the title). Basically it's worse than high end cars, the Hyundai e-gmp cars, and the bolt.

"a good friend of mine, Trevor Milton" Saying that today is definitely something.
  10. 2/16: Georgia Factory Drone Video

We'll see. I'd argue that we don't know enough from the video to make a very well informed decision either way. Either way, they're making progress, which is a great thing.
  11. 2/16: Georgia Factory Drone Video

Hi there! Professional geotechnical engineer here. stone columns are a ground impovement method used to improve *some* site's conditions. Earthwork can also be used to improve site work. For example, overexcavation and replacement can be an alternative method of improving the site. And...
  12. Ride menu max charge limit override

Ok, most models have a top buffer. It's not diabolical.
  13. Snow Driving Issues

The trucks seem to have a tendency to slide laterally, regardless of tires. They also have a lot of mass, so there is more inertia for the tires to handle. Just get a winter tire. There's a link below showing the performance of the Pirelli against other ATs, and all-season, and a good winter...
  14. Ride menu max charge limit override

E.G. having a buffer that every car has?
  15. 2/16: Georgia Factory Drone Video

Stone columns are basically an alternative to excavation for site work. I wouldn't say this puts them ahead of behind way WRT "foundations" Yep. You could argue the that the Georgia site is too. They're having to move a lot of dirt. We'll see what the end up needing to do for the foundations...
  16. LPF Battery or What they have now

These are NCA packs per Rivian. I'm very curious to see voltages and vehicle weight of these standard/standard+ packs in the wild since I'm sure we won't get a tear down anytime soon.
  17. Gear tunnel unlocks via proximity even when "lock only" at home is set

As others mentioned, it's expected behavior. You can unlock the vehicle when in very close proximity with your key. The logic rivian made is if you are very close to the vehicle, and pushing a button asking to to unlock, then it's intentional. It does often take several clicks of the closure to...
