I am not sure you understand the facts either.
Large pack R1T (which is slightly more aerodynamic than the R1S by the way) on 21’s with inserts in. Lifetime mi/kwh for about 5500 miles was 2.31.
Bought a R1S that came with 22’s. Switched to Rivian 20 brights and put on 275/60/20 Pirelli AS...
That’s great. The character line is there so might as well use it!
Thank you. I got sick of the black and wrapped it but kept the trim accents the same.
Dude, manufacturers can offer multiple tires for one wheel. Very easy to do. They could’ve offered the 20” wheel with AT tires, OR smaller AS tires.
Obviously the 22” Rivian tire would handle better than the 20” AT tire. I’m not talking about the AT tire I though. No, I am talking about a AS 275/60/20 tire.
275/60/20 has more tire to ride better, absorb even bigger impacts and is more efficient than the 275/50/22 tire.
On paper the pro for 22 more direct steering is kind of irrelevant. It’s a 7k lbs SUV. It handles like such. People that get the 22’s and say it handles like a sporty truck are the definition of oxymoron. Just personal opinion. If you want a sporty SUV, then get a Cayenne, Urus, RSQ8 etc. Not a...
That is a generous estimate. Top Gear reported 460km range. That is about 285 miles and remember that is probably the WLTP cycle. EPA range is multiple that number by .7 and get 200 max range at 100% charge. Which would bring real world range to 150-175 which is utterly pathetic.
It should already be dead! Doug demuro said it best when he reviewed a Chrysler Pacifica a couple years ago..when black wheels come standard on minivan, you know the trend it done.
Just like black roofs. While the R1S looks good with the black roof, that trend needs to die too. Give us the...
^ I would go a step further and say the 275/60/20 AS tire setup is more efficient than the OEM 21’s. Smaller wheels are more efficient, regardless of EV or ICE. My S, with some un-aerodynamic mods is more efficient than my R1T on 21’s.
The most efficient range setup would be 275/60/20 AS tire...
I really don’t have any negatives other than I wish it was purpose made for EV’s with foam inside. I might switch to the new Michelin defender Ltx/ms2 when these are done for.
I drive the vehicle for what it is, a very comfortable SUV. I have sports cars to go fast around turns in. I saw...
Here is some data. My R1S quad large is programmed to 22’s. I have OEM 20 brights with 275/60/20 Pirelli. I did a 100% to 0 driving test for my use case. Took 10 days to drain. 343 miles in conserve. I did the same test in AP mode, 293 miles.
On highway trip on FL turnpike I see 2-2.25. My S is...
Here are my two cents.
For those who think it’s a refreshed R1 you are out of your mind. I mean seriously. Why would a fledging start up refresh a new model? What confidence does that give off to investors? There is nothing wrong with the look of the R1. For those thinking is a refreshed R1...
