Agree to disagree. There's also zero indication that they won't be applicable, as much as you want to infer that's the case. I am not factoring the credit into my purchase decision but think there's a good chance it still applies.
Thought excercise...if the BPA is being treated as an effective...
Hmm, let's put our thinking caps on! We're reading IRS guidance published for 2022 tax credits. It seems reasonable that they would note that you have to take possession of the vehicle before January 1, 2023 in order to claim the credit on your 2022 return. If they had not included the timeframe...
I'm not optimistic, but I can read. They link to the 2023 guidance for "vehicles purchased between August 16, 2022 and December 31, 2022." If you signed a BPA, you "purchased" before August 16, 2022.
Thanks? That says nothing about deliveries after January 1, 2023 for BPAs. It simply says before January 1, 2023 since, you know, that's when the current tax year ends...
I've seen you post this a number of times in different threads and it's simply not true. I'm also skeptical that the BPAs will work for 2023 deliveries but let's stop spreading misinformation!
Thanks for sharing! This is my exact configuration and I had the same thoughts about the AT brights and the chrome strip tying together nicely. It looks great!
Regarding the CO '22 credit, no (see below). You will get the '23 credit. Regarding the federal credit, no one knows if the binding purchase agreements will hold up for vehicles delivered in 23.
Date of purchase, lease, or conversion
The credit is determined, in part, based upon the tax year...
Not saying you're wrong but this wouldn't be the first time a guide shared incorrect information. Might be a bit premature to sound the alarm on this one.
Makes sense and definitely worth calling out. It's understandable that service has suffered quite a bit as they have ramped production and I fear the lead times for appointments will only get worse once they introduce the permanent tonneau fix. The R1S will be my daily but I definitely wouldn't...
I'm having a lovely day - slow at work so plenty of time to read and respond here. The spirit of the OP's question was to justify whether or not the truck still a good value at ~$95k. Just because Jane, Joe, Jim, Sarah and Frank can't afford it at that price and aren't comfortable stretching...
I appreciate this answer even though in my view the X7 (at least the base model which is the only one starting under $100k) is not really comparable to the R1S from a performance lens (speed and offroading capability). To each his own!
Fair point. I bet they'll bring the price back down after one of their execs reads through the thread tonight and realizes a lot of us are stretching our budgets ?
Agreed! Even though I've only had a first mile drive in an R1S. There is simply no comparable vehicle available at this (post-March) price. For the R1S - take a Model X or a Range Rover and you're already well over $100k.
Wow - thanks for the value add! My point was that answers regarding one's personal financial situation are not useful answers, whatsoever, as everyone's financial situation is different.
This thread has really devolved...so many of these answers are coming from a personal financial lens (e.g. $80k was already pushing it for my budget so NO, or I don't want to pay $95k for a toy...). These answers are useless IMO, and I say that as someone who is near the top end of his budget in...
