This thread has 6k views in less than 24 hours on a Thursday into Friday. I think thereās more cross-shopping than folks think but linking this one action to the impending death of Rivian is premature.
There are many features that truly distinguish one vehicle from another, but the Model Y is...
We just took an R1S on an extended test drive with two huskies and they had a hard time jumping into the rear gate. The drive is excellent, like my 4Runner but electric. To be honest, we are primarily buying the R1S so our dogs can have a bit more space in the back compared to the Y so it was...
I ordered another Model Y to cost average down from my 2022 Model Y, get radar back, and have better suspension in a car with fewer/No miles.
If $50k is where we land for a ā23 Model Y, Iāll have to think hard about keeping the R1S at a $30k premium.
Our model y has this as well and, while Iām sure implementation is different/Rivianās might be more effective, our MY heater element for the wipers do nothing for addressing the challenges with snow/ice accumulation while driving requiring us to full blast the windshield with heated air via our...
Thanks for the photo. This element only heats the window where the wiper blade rests. Iām referring to thin wires that run the entire area of the front windshield. The only other cars Iāve seen them on are Range/Land Rovers as an option. Now that Iāve experienced it, I canāt go backā¦
Our Tesla struggles in snow/freezing rain with regards to visibility through front windshield. We have heating elements in the front glass of our sprinter and wish rivian would add this feature along with some heating elements for the front headlights lol.
Having driven the R1T, it's definitely not the lag of ICE cars but more of a very short-latency ramp over the scale of 0.1-0.2s where it's barely perceptible, kind of like take off on an airplane. The Tesla throttle mapping really throws you into the seat immediately; the Rivian kind of...
This is incredible work; thank you! Makes me realize that I'm tracking right along based on my pre-order date and the rest of the deliveries in my state.
Thank you!
I could kind of see this. Part of what makes the Teslas feel fast (beyond the fact that they are) is that the throttle response feels 1:1. The Rivian R1T that I've driven feels like there's either software or mechanical latency built in to the beginning of acceleration that ever-so-slightly...
TLDR, no anticipated communication by the end of the summer (Thursday, 9/22). Communication anticipated at end of September explaining another communication in October, presumably with delivery windows for those who haven't yet received updated windows.
Chatted with Rivian customer service...
The c-suite and technical leadership from this company imploded. I had a reservation on a vehicle and cancelled it once it looked like the company was going to fold and the CSRs were very aggressive about asking why I was cancelling, etc. Vaporware that probably won't make it meaningfully in...
