  1. Rivians approach to model year: traditional or iterative (Tesla-like)?

I like/ prefer Tesla's model. Although it makes it more difficult when selling or buying on the used market because you can end up with different tech within the same model year and no way to differentiate other than roughly going by manufacture date.
  2. Looking to purchase your Launch Edition

All fair points for consideration. Wasn’t looking at it that way specifically. Personally I’m still committed to Limestone+FE as a color combo + 20ā€ AT w/ off-road package. I think the reality of it for me is it’s a truck I’d keep at most a year if I were to pick up an LE because I’d sell...
  3. Looking to purchase your Launch Edition

I've gone over the math, logistics, etc.. Guesstimate of my max pack R1T probably being July~October '23... Even with all that, there's only so much I'd be willing to take an early reservation. Some of the numbers thrown out here are just crazy talk. If anyone has an LE coming early next...
  4. ? Rivian Sends Delivery Window E-Mail. What’s Your Dates? => Vote in Poll!

A friend of mine has already been given a January (maybe February) delivery estimate. I’m wondering if this has now changed since emails going out. I shot him a text, but haven’t heard anything.
  5. ? Rivian Sends Delivery Window E-Mail. What’s Your Dates? => Vote in Poll!

Yes, LE was always supposed to deliver first. I think many of us would have chose differently had we known a the time how long this would all take. No clue how many LEs there are. Could be a lot. They didn’t cut off LE orders by number, but rather by date. I am hoping there are lots of them...
  6. ? Rivian Sends Delivery Window E-Mail. What’s Your Dates? => Vote in Poll!

…or is it just LE orders that are getting contacted? But yes, I think us max pack guys are getting screwed. Not just by Rivian, but also on tax credits and other things we’re not aware of yet.
  7. ? Rivian Sends Delivery Window E-Mail. What’s Your Dates? => Vote in Poll!

Anyone with a max pack configuration get the email? I see no email.
  8. My Hummer EV Edition 1 journey

Still crickets on my Hummer EV reservation. And I’m OK with that because I can’t decide what to do. I’m 90% sure I’m going to pass on it and let someone else have it. But who knows, Edition 1 might hold its value quite well, maybe I give it a shot. I just know it’s not the truck I want even...
  9. Colorado Checking In

A friend of mine in Boulder has an order for a LE R1T... So far no contact as far as locking in his configuration or deliveries or any of that. Like many, he's hoping to hear something any day now since there was mention of all LE orders being contacted this month. He's a very early...
  10. Factory 22" Wheels on R1T Rivian - finally a real life look

Still less than half as many logos as the HUMMER EV has. GM incorporated the Hummer branding everywhere you look on that thing. Most are subtle, but damn it's tacky when you start looking at it all.
  11. Colorado Checking In

Since I mentioned seeing those two R1T's a couple pages back... I saw one again last night. Just before 8PM on 104th & Westminster Blvd. I was sitting in a turn lane when it drove past heading east. Probably one of the same two I've already seen. They have Colorado temp tags. But beyond...
  12. First Tesla Superchargers for other automakers begin service, higher fees and membership offered

Not all of them are arranged this nicely. That said, if an R1T charges here, it would still be using the charger opposite of what a Tesla would use. In reference to the Tesla already in the picture, an R1T would pull into the space next to it, just behind it from the cameraā€˜s POV, and would...
  13. First Tesla Superchargers for other automakers begin service, higher fees and membership offered

Yeah, with most other EVs on the market, the charge port is on the front of the car, driver’s side. So to charge the R1T (or most others) at a Tesla charger, you have to effectively block two spaces. The exception would be if you can pull in next to the stall furthest to the right or partially...
  14. My shopping adventure: Rivian vs F150 Lightning

This is an unfortunate reality of independent dealerships having control over pricing and a high demand / short supply situation. Not just demand for EVs, but pretty much all vehicles right now - especially trucks/SUVs. There are still many dealerships out there who are not marking stuff up...
  15. My shopping adventure: Rivian vs F150 Lightning

The suspension on the Lightning actually rides quite nice. It's definitely upgraded from the standard F-150 as it has to be to hold the extra weight and support the faster acceleration and different mass distribution of the EV platform. Also nice to have independent rear suspension, which was...
  16. Post-IPO public communications

Yep, silent period is most likely not over. And given that we're up against end of year and holidays, I'm really not expecting to hear anything meaningful until mid/late January when they issue a quarterly report or statement for end of year or 4th qtr '21.
  17. LIMESTONE R1T Photos

It also seems to me that Limestone may be a bit darker with a bit less green vs. Lunar Rock. But if it's close to Lunar Rock, then I'm 100% in for Limestone, love Toyota's Lunar Rock color. Limestone is also supposed to have a bit of metallic flake to it, real subtle. That could look great...
  18. First Rivian Supercharger Spotted @ Irvine Facility

I suppose I assumed they had it, as Tesla applied for registration and other charging providers are steering clear of the term. Didn’t take long to search and see that they don’t have it. And their application was denied as a ubiquitous or generalized term in the auto industry. So I suppose...
  19. First Rivian Supercharger Spotted @ Irvine Facility

Careful with that marketing there…. Tesla holds the registered TM on ā€œSuperchargerā€
