Wait a minute... you guys have lane-keeping cruise control?!
Do you mean JUST set ACC and then "let the vehicle ping-pong like you're itching for a DUI" mode?
Because I don't even consider that a valid mode/feature/function. 10+yr old vehicles do that better and actually keep the centered in...
interesting, have always wondered.
So...
Sport mode
Height: Lowest
Ride: Firm/Stiff
Stability Control: Off
Battery: >80%?
These are the "best" conditions for a launch?
I don't disagree, it IS weird though, and I feel like having some kind of failsafe that uses a converter - there must already be one somewhere dropping the voltage low enough to not melt the 12v system when charging it - to just keep the 12v loop alive off the high-voltage pack. Like it doesn't...
UPDATE 5:
Just got a call from the Chicago Service Center.
Rivian engineering has been watching my vehicle since the mobile service repair. They believe the initial issue, and subsequent "issues" during the repair were/are caused by a software bug. There is a hotfix coming for it and they...
If they just let you do casting while on the move, you could cast your entire phone screen (at least on Android) and have "Android Auto" :D you'd just still need to control it from your phone, but being able to have any app up while driving would be great, shame it's going to be locked behind...
I've debated this, but maybe it's time to actually explore setting it up. It's a shame you can't get this level of information 1st party - it seems so obvious and relatively low-lift to "fix".
Does anyone else think that the Charging History section of the mobile app needs a rework? Not in the sense of UI or anything, but the fact that a "session" seems to be dictated by physical insertion and removal of the charging cable, and not... you know... ACTUAL charging sessions?
For example...
UPDATE 4:
Lead tech rechecked everything. Got battery charged back up and vehicle booted up. Loads of errors, but was able to get the "new battery" process to run. Cleared everything and then rebooted again.
Vehicle was still throwing battery ground errors and/or battery sensor (IBS) errors -...
Thanks, yeah. Trying to stay positive. Certainly the tech(s) have been trying and doing their best but it's definitely at a point where I'd really like my vehicle back. Unfortunately it's going to take a while for me to trust this battery replacement or even the vehicle as a whole because how it...
The tech did mention releasing the parking brake today but we held off because the lead tech is supposed to head over. But yeah this might be what I was thinking of. Seems like a true manual override would still be quite handy.
Actually lead tech just arrived...
UPDATE 3:
Remote service came out today at ~2pm. We tried jumping from the rear to get the frunk open - nothing. Clearly the battery is very, very, dead.
Try to get access to the emergency frunk release, but because of low ride height and wheels being pretty much straight it was pretty much...
This is why I bought 2 sets of them, just to make sure I had extras/replacements if they eventually shut this down. Shame that there's no way to make this work with Rivian
UPDATE 2:
Rivian service is calling and checking in for the coming repair, and maybe, finally ACTUALLY listening to me about the difficulty of trying to service this vehicle where it has chosen to die...
They asked for videos and I sent them.
Current request is that there's no way to service...
Mine has been in and out of my pocket a lot over the last several months and definitely needs some touch-up work. But still far more usable then just black on black
Maybe I missed it all, but is this a 6 page thread of people being upset that Rivian used minimal/efficient packaging when shipping the adapter? Legitimately, who cares what it comes in as long as it suffices to ensure the contents arrive intact? That's all shipping materials need to accomplish.
