At least Tesla can produce a car with no infotainment lag. Almost every update on Rivian supposedly addresses "Improved general stability and performance" but never gets there no matter what version of unreal engine they move to.
Agreed but I'm convinced the amount of people that off-road now are next to nothing. Gen 1 R1T guys were the off-roaders and the brand has drastically changed despite the PR spin.
2 early reservations day 1 and just received order time frame of November-December. Not going to use either reservation and will stick with R1 and hoping for R1 refresh at some point. Order system makes no sense to me with timing but I'm fine with it because I prefer my Gen 1.
Red Canyon is so nice in person. I went with Limestone but saw the Red Canyon with the sun hitting it and I was like wow that would easily be my second choice.
Running boards should be an option. Almost everyone complains getting into my R1S. Sure there is aftermarket and then once you bring it into the SC, they say take them off or you'll be charged.
Kyle from out of spec said the same thing, felt plasticky and even he had some issues with control. I think the average person will probably struggle with them. I sat in the pre-prod version of the R2 and they felt pretty good but haven't done a test drive to tell the difference.
Full price is one thing but 10% interest on a lease is insane especially when Gen 3 could be end of year. I would refuse to lease anything with that rate, especially with excellent credit. It'll be interesting to see how sold out they are when many are looking for the cheap $45k version.
For a bigger guy the R2 seats seemed harder and narrow compared to my R1. Not a fan of the black interior at all, so boring. I have reservations but unlikely to use them and will wait for Gen 3 R1.
Same, didn't cancel yet but won't use either of my day 1 reservations and will keep my R1S. Even if I wanted the R2, I'd wait for the Gen 3 RAP1 processor/Lidar/Coastal Cloud after learning my lesson with Gen1 being obsolete. Lease rates are roughly 10% from what I've heard which is bananas and...
Never had a Gen 2 loaner but a few R1T's to make me jealous of the longer wheelbase ride feel vs the R1S. Crazy how different the feel is between the 2 models on Gen 1.
Wish I knew enough to put downpayments on the R1T and R1S. Didn't realize they would do the R1T first and could've driven that for a year and sold it with little to no loss for the R1S. Kudos!
It's why the apps should be separate from a complete vehicle upgrade. You shouldn't have to wait months because of typical upgrade cadence to address an application issue. I think they just don't have the development talent that Tesla has or the many more years of experience. I still have to...
