I was just planning to post this, it's funny that the topic came up today...... I have to send my truck in for service and they told me it needs to go to Richmond as Rockville is mobile service only. That was news to me.
In any case, such a waste to send a flatbed to pick up the truck and cart...
As a Tesla owner for over 3 years I don't have any range anxiety anymore (or very little). But I am not talking about range anxiety. I am talking about reliability outside of Tesla's supercharger network.
But I now have the luxury of planning my trips based on which network (Tesla/J1772) would...
Fully agree, but the little voice in my head is saying "what if that charger you are banking on is not working and you cannot make it to the next one?"
....now being towed while driving would work...
I can just see it now; F250 towing a 5th wheel towing a Rivian towing a travel trailer. See if any of your camping buddies are up for that.
I have owned a m3 SR+ and currently own a LR. The SR+ sound sucked because they disabled a bunch of speakers (including one amp and the sub) and the whole system was just unbalanced front to back.
The LR sounds much better. But there are no presets on the equalizer. And I am terrible setting it...
You will have to adjust the truck before you plug it in otherwise you will end up with a paperweight. So buy 48 amp+ from the start. I have inconsistent results from the Lectron, so I am trading it in for the more expensive Teslatap mini. Reviews seem to indicate sometimes issues with Lectron...
For all the years I have owned vehicles and never installed ppf on any of them I know from hindsight that it would have been a waste. So I never planned to do it on my R1T.
Last week I received my truck and this past weekend took it on a quick road trip. I already got a small chip on the front...
Interesting.... thanks for the data point.
Remember at level 2 chargers your SOC doesn't matter. You should be able to get a constant 12kw (when it's a 48amp connection, as was the case with you)
I did some driving at highway speed over the weekend and getting a lot of wind noise at the top of the windshield, both left and right sides. It starts at about 45 mph and increases as the speed increases. Is it the same as others are describing here? Its really at the top left and righ corners...
You cannot compare miles per hr. You need to look at kw. Also Lectron makes a few different models with different amp ratings. Do you know what the amp limit is on your adapter? You would need 48+ to compare to your model X.
Right....I have had varying success with the Lectron 48amp and a Tesla mobile connector. I have since ordered a teslatap to test that because I want a reliable option while on the road.
But I was specifically asking about the Tesla WC gen 3. I do realize that the adapter is part of the equation...
Anyone using a Tesla wall connector gen 3 to charge a rivian yet? I did a bit of searching and it looks like some are planning this setup. Just wondering if anyone have feedback to share yet.
