It uses that voice if you're in "On-road" drive modes for more than 70% of the time. If you spend time on off-road mode, it changes to the lumberjack voice.

Are you talking about the Assistant voice generally, or the new navigation voice (the latter is entirely NPR vocal fry)? Now that they both sound more natural, I just wish it was the same voice.

I feel the same, this is v1.0, it'll get better. I'm used to narrating my text messages with punctuation. So I tend to say: "I'll be home a 6pm period what do you want for dinner question mark" And it seems to work across most voice recognition systems.

Exact same thing happened with me. I have message notifications turned on. I was able to send a text via Assistant, which sent fine. But the response I got back a few seconds later only showed up on my phone, I never got a notification from Assistant that I got a text message.

How did it fail? It successfully performed the action I asked. It just makes a lot of sounds doing it.
