After expressing my dissatisfaction about being charged labor for RIVIAN techs to help me lift my tent off the vehicle, RIVIAN backed down and agreed to not charge me the labor, as goodwill. So now I am happier about the situation, except that I still need to take time off of work to drive down...
Exped Duo sounded familiar, so I had to go out a check. That’s what we have. Nice choice. One other note about rooftop tents. They are heavy to install. I’m sure you know about this. The other thing I learned is that if your R1S needs service unexpectedly, RIVIAN will not service it with the...
Oh, that’s a nice size. You’ll be able to fit 2 personal air mattresses side by side if you wanted. Yeah, when I ordered the tent and slimline II I wasn’t sure at the time how the tent would need to mount and what the maximum span could be between the 2 cross bars. That’s why I went with the...
Will you be getting 2 or 3 OEM crossbars? I read a post on here a while back about the 3 crossbars not being perfectly level when installed. I’m not sure if this is true though…
I discussed with Front Runner. They didn’t have any concerns. I ended up having to remove the wind fairing because my rooftop tent is the kind that uses the generic U-bolts to mount it to the rack. I had to reach underneath the roof rack to affix the tent. So then I had to Jerry rig the wind...
You mentioned that Enterprise wanted to charge you extra because Rivian wasn’t comping enough for the rental? Did you push back at Rivian? Rivian should provide you a comparable vehicle free of charge or loan you one of theirs.
Sorry, I think your question was about how much weight I had in the vehicle when driving it. Not that much in comparison to if we were towing something. We weren’t.
great question! I was tracking it very closely. Efficiency is between 1.6 and 1.7 mi/kwh in Conserve mode at Low height. At Standard height it was at the lower end of the range. At Low height it was at the higher end of the range. I never used the Lowest height setting.
I had a lot of elevation...
I was driving it that way for several hundred miles. You’ll see in my later post that Rivian recommended I not drive the vehicle. I got a rental in Spokane. During the last mile of driving from the hotel to the Enterprise place, the car was really acting up, (back wheels engaging/grinding...
Also, Rivian service in normal sent me a text message this morning asking me to remove the rooftop tent before it’s towed to Normal. I told him sorry, I AM removing the cargo box, but not the tent. I am on vacation and 2,000 miles from home. The Rivian service manager insists that I remove the...
Here is the latest update. I arrived at Enterprise and looked at the Forerunner Rivian wanted to rent for me and I said no thanks. Way too small. The Enterprise guy offered me a Wagoneer. This is still really way too small but the only other option. A lot of cargo fits in the trunk, sub trunk...
It’s a sad state of affairs if you are at the point that you don’t feel comfortable driving your Rivian on a long trip! I must admit that l wonder what is preventing other drive units from failing once they replace just one.
Hi everyone, thanks for your suggestions. Here is the update. After the oil leaking out and spraying all over the back window, my service advisor called me back and advised me that his team wants me to stop driving the vehicle as soon as I reach a city that has an Enterprise rental. We elected...
