  1. Question on Back up and 360 camera

Not that I've been able to find. I wish it was like my Macan where the 360 cam automatically activates any time the radar begins sensing objects. It would be nice to see 360 video w/ the radar feedback overlaid in the driver display.
  2. Limited regen after new s/w update?

I suspect they got more protective/conservative with the regen with a cold battery to prolong battery longevity (battery care was noted in the December update). I notice some very minor regen reduction when first driving after a ~40F night. And more significant regen reduction when it soaks...
  3. Phone key unlocks the vehicle but cannot ready/activate it

I have a Sony Android 13 phone - about 30% of the time I enter the truck it won't recognize it to drive. I have had success with quickly force-closing the app / opening it fresh, and then holding my phone on the door where the key card would be tapped. That seems to force the phone and truck...
  4. No 800V architecture for Max Pack - confirmed

Totally agree. That was my assumption when I switched from Max to Large. 800V would help maximize how much we can get out of some charging stalls and likely reduce heating and charger errors. The 800V cars seem to have a much easier time charging at 200+kw.
  5. Driver+ / Highway Assist vs. Tesla Autopilot: An Extensive Owner's Review

I found this infuriating the other day driving on a quiet but slightly foggy interstate... had to drive for almost an hour w/o cruise control. MADDENING! A "flick" up should kill HA and a full press up (like reverse) should kill both. I don't mind it as the driver, but I feel bad for my...
  6. Towing + Efficiency: Please post your experience!

Did our first towing with our week old R1T. Frustrating that the range estimate is completely broken in towing mode. Varies wildly from 140 to 630+mi. It almost seemed to add miles the lower we got in charge. We got about 1.35mi/kWh towing a large teardrop at 60-70mph.
  7. Dual-Motor AWD System Specs: 600hp 0-60 MPH in 4.5 Seconds /// 700hp 0-60 MPH in 3.5 Seconds!

Your graph is showing torque vs slippage. In an induction motor, you must have "slippage" in order to provide torque. Here is what a permanent magnet motor like in the Rivians looks like: The problem is that you eventually reach maximum current through the windings and therefore maximum...
  8. Tow Test - Rivian R1T & nuCamp TAB 320 S Boondock Teardrop Trailer

I put the majority of my thoughts in a previous reply. It's a 2021 model we both 2nd hand. We've had it about 9 months and have done about 11 trips and probably 3500mi. My complaints are mostly the very predictable - when the bed is made, there's really only space for 1 person to stand. To...
  9. Tow Test - Rivian R1T & nuCamp TAB 320 S Boondock Teardrop Trailer

So, we've had the truck for a week today, and got out for a little winter camping trip overnight. Other than a little slop in the hitch making some bouncing over big bumps, it's easy to forget there's anything back there. Lack of radar cruise while towing is VERY annoying to me. Range...
  10. Dual-Motor AWD System Specs: 600hp 0-60 MPH in 4.5 Seconds /// 700hp 0-60 MPH in 3.5 Seconds!

I disagree. Because of the way the battery and the motors function, from 0 to X mph, torque is all that matters (relatively constant, or increasing). Beyond X mph, HP is all that matters (power is constant, torque is dropping). For a Tesla P85D, X is around 35mph. I assume an R1x is probably...
  11. Rivian Build Quality Is Getting Worse As They Ramp Up Production For R1T/R1S

The spare tire cover right side really needs to slammed to close, especially given the 0-15F weather. All the other doors require a lot of force to close, but the driver's door seems to be breaking in and getting easier. That was the only somewhat obvious problem on our truck - there's...
  12. New Rivian Factory Drone Footage - Amazon will be happy!

I had the pleasure of being there yesterday to pick up our R1T! I was absolutely flabbergasted at how many R1Ts, R1Ss, and EDVs are around. Both lines (tour guide said they are completely independent) were pumping out vehicles. Seemed like every 5 or so minutes a new one was coming off each...
  13. Tow Test - Rivian R1T & nuCamp TAB 320 S Boondock Teardrop Trailer

I'm basically 6' and the bathroom stinks to use. The kitchen/sink is slightly annoying, but usable. My wife finds no height related issues. We probably should have gone with the CS model with the outside kitchen, as we like to spend as little time in the camper as possible. A lot of people...
  14. Tow Test - Rivian R1T & nuCamp TAB 320 S Boondock Teardrop Trailer

We have a Tab 320S Boondock we've been towing with our Macan. The R1T should be showing up soon, so I can hopefully report back some additional real-world experience!
  15. R1T Orders: Dec '22 - Jan '23 -- Status Room

Haha, that was my first reaction... Gotta get as close to that 25k delivery estimate as possible! Really didn't expect a truck this year, but I'm all for it. My wife is already trying to make some road trip plans. Any way to know where "my truck" might be before my guide hopefully shows up on...
  16. R1T Orders: Dec '22 - Jan '23 -- Status Room

First (real) post! Put in for a R1T Max Pack, camp kitchen, tent, etc. In Feb '22. Was adamant that I'd wait for a Max Pack, but bailed a few weeks after the "Jan 24-Dec 24" estimate came in. My logic is that by then maybe Ford, Chevy, Tesla, lucid, someone will have a better "long range...
