  1. MD Inspection Shops for R1T?

I sure hope you videoed the Inspection. Searching for the tailpipe to measure the emissions had to have been hilarious!! :CWL:
  2. Air Conditioning vents

Do you know that you can touch-drag the vent icons on the fan and vents display screen? Once I discovered this, I can easily adjust all vents to point where I need them. Also, I don't know but it also seems that the more I "stretch" open a vent icon, the stronger the airflow.
  3. Rivian R1T dead: Critical battery issue, service vehicle immediately

I had the same issue with my R1T. Once towed to the Atlanta SC, they determined the 12v batteries were dead and not charging because an "internal switch" within the main battery was "stuck". This switch, as I understand it, is what enables the 12v batteries to recharge. And, those batteries...
  4. Observations after 3000 mile road trip over 14 days in my R1T

Excellent analysis! I hope Rivian is paying attention and will address the R1T issues.
  5. Updated Powered Tonneau & Manual Tonneau Bed Covers Coming Mid-Summer! RJ Shows Off in First-Look Video

Not crazy about having a manual cover that has to be removed in order to have an uncovered bed. Also, I would not like giving up my gear storage to carry around the disassembled cover. My storage is for my golf clubs! :CWL::CWL:
  6. “Critical battery issue”

Yes. The way I understand it, the "circuit" that controls the recharging of the 12v batteries failed. It is located within the HV battery structure itself and was not repairable by my local RSC. Therefore, they had to replace the entire HV battery. This apparently fixed the problem because I...
  7. Counterpoint to the onslaught of negative points

All things that are minor which I consider normal during the growth process of ANY new product created from scratch. I fully expected things not to be perfect when I ordered mine about 3 years ago. My eyes were wide open, and I have been very pleased with Rivian and my R1T. Useful tips are...
  8. Rivian Top Speed Too Low?

Plenty fast for me. To get use to the pedal, I think of it as like a golf cart and smoothly feather the pedal actions. Letting your foot off the pedal is just like braking. (I very rarely need to use the actual brake pedal.)
  9. Counterpoint to the onslaught of negative points

As an R1T owner, I FULLY AGREE! I wouldn't think twice about buying it again. There have been too many minuscule, negative comments that have been contrary to the majority of the Owners. Makes me think some of those posts may have come from "competitors" trying to rundown Rivian.
  10. For those who got R1S (or R1T) at original approximately $78k would you buy one for new price of approximately $93k?

I'd doubt it. I love my R1T!!!! However, I think the new price is way too much. So glad I got mine for $80K. That was still a high but more manageable price.
  11. Conserve Mode should only be selected while the vehicle is stopped? (says Rivian Service Center technicians)

My R1T has quad motors. I was told during my orientation that the Conserve Mode disconnects the two rear-wheel motors. Thus, the better economy from using only half of the motors. I haven't experienced any issues or odd sounds while changing modes "on the fly". In fact, mine is actually...
  12. 12V battery troubles

Good question. I don't know for sure but I think the 12s are charged as needed since there is supposedly an automatic "switch" involved. In an emergency, I don't see why an appropriately spec'd type of auxiliary power wouldn't work. (Don't forget your electric tape. ?) You should ask your...
  13. 12V battery troubles

That's correct. My 12v batteries were so dead that everything would go off once I disconnected the jumper cables. Without those batteries, the truck has no operating computer to run things. BTW... It took about a month before the batteries went dead. Rivian fixed it (I hope) by replacing the...
  14. 12V battery troubles

My charger wasn't strong enough so I connected the wires to a "jump car". It took a few moments but I could get it to wake up enough to unlock it, and all of the compartments, to retrieve my belongings before the tow truck arrived. I don't know if it could have been recharged with a larger...
  15. Does your flashlight work?

I have the same issue. Started with a good flashlight that eventually went dead. Rivian sent another new one but it did the exact same thing. The flashlight charging port has an issue needing attention. You've probably found the problem, so Rivian needs to provide the fix... without us owners...
  16. Camp Speaker not Charging

Not mine. I'm on my second flashlight. Neither one will hold a charge, or will recharge.
  17. 12 volt system totally died, bricked truck... Still waiting for Rivian to review logs and tell me why!

I didn't know that. Never heard about Rivian having a battery assembly plant. Very interesting.
  18. How long did it take to get your R1T from the service center (until you get a call to schedule the pickup?)?

Obviously, it depends upon several factors... mainly, what your problem was. I had my R1T picked up by the Atlanta RSC for a full battery replacement and it took two weeks. P.S. Watch out to be sure it is returned in CLEAN condition. I was VERY disgusted that mine was re-delivered much dirtier...
  19. 12 volt system totally died, bricked truck... Still waiting for Rivian to review logs and tell me why!

You can jump the 12v batteries via two jumper wires stowed near the trailer hitch. Refer to the manual if you need to do this... but you'd better find out why the 12v batteries went dead. This should not happen.
  20. What does this symbol mean? Update: electronic steering error

For some reason, the Tire Pressure Monitoring system needs the vehicle to be driven around some so it can take pressure readings from each tire. Hopefully, no biggie.
