  1. Do I Risk Damaging the Lift Gate Motor?

Sooo....Just like the HVAC vents then :D Sorry, couldn't help myself. I hate these vents.
  2. A very unpleasant surprise: dent in tailgate

It doesn't look quite as bad when clean. I'll grab another pic later. Paint has started to flake off of it though. I should really get that fixed.
  3. EV Efficiency Variable: Tire Mass Matters

Is that referencing weight? Pressure? Compound? Contact patch?
  4. EV Efficiency Variable: Tire Mass Matters

Here's a neat set of data that talks about rotational mass, and the effects, as well as a comparison to city vs highway driving. It does matter, but likely less than we might want to believe. I've started it where he starts talking about rotational mass. The whole video is a good watch...
  5. A very unpleasant surprise: dent in tailgate

@Yossarian Put me in for $1301 in the "Price to fix" pool. Previously read is fine with me.
  6. A very unpleasant surprise: dent in tailgate

I've been wearing similar scars since January. Mine is known event. I kicked the shit out of the tailgate in a fit of rage against this particular machine.
  7. The dark AT wheels were silently changed so you don't know what you need/are getting

I'm not a believer of coincidences, but this is weird. Glad it's fixed, but man it was a journey to get there.
  8. Four years, four R1Ts. An adventure and a bitter-sweet cautionary tale.

Honestly, company focus is very clear, and a big reason I don't want to stick with the brand. I love the product, but it's abundantly clear that they are more focused on tech than manufacturing. They' started as a "Make a great vehicle" company and are quickly turning into a "Make great tech...
  9. Four years, four R1Ts. An adventure and a bitter-sweet cautionary tale.

Be glad to discuss in person. I'll DM you a phone number. I told me immediate service manager at the service center. They put in a request to escalate, and within a week or so I got a call from a regional something or the other. I'll have to pull the details from email to find actual title and...
  10. Four years, four R1Ts. An adventure and a bitter-sweet cautionary tale.

Interestingly enough.....I too have lost 2 wheel speed sensors/harnesses as well. I didn't get turtle mode, I got all the sensors disabled, and no autonomy. Intermittent errors at first, then constant. Once in the shop it was identified, repaired, and back to me in 2 days. Again, great service...
  11. Four years, four R1Ts. An adventure and a bitter-sweet cautionary tale.

Push for buybacks. Push hard. I was past the NY state Lemon Law time limits and consulted an attorney on mine when I finally hit the wall. Lawyers basically said arbitration is as good as you're going to get because of the situation. I escalated within Rivian through my local service center...
  12. Four years, four R1Ts. An adventure and a bitter-sweet cautionary tale.

Buffalo resident here. I have similar issues. The brakes don't warm enough to "dry off" in the winter, and salt water corrodes the pads to the rotors overnight. When I leave in the morning I've seen the yellow "power bar" on the dash reach ~30-40% up before the truck will move and when it lets...
  13. Four years, four R1Ts. An adventure and a bitter-sweet cautionary tale.

@onesoil Just read the whole thing. I echo just about every single comment/sentiment here. The uncaptured time dealing with service, and the service center personnel being kneecapped is particularly relevant to me. I had good success getting the cell number of the techs doing the work, however...
  14. Overzealous A/C - Anyone else?

Rivian Roamer has my build date. I think it's in the door jamb as well. Mine is VIN 30628, so not too far "behind" yours Like this: *EDIT* This is fun. It thinks it's preconditioning. Wonder if that has something to do with it. Also this screen shows build and delivery dates.
  15. Overzealous A/C - Anyone else?

I've been saying that for awhile, and 100% agree. I've met a couple owners that are like mine and have complete basket cases for trucks. In the shop for a myriad of reasons on a semi-regular basis. I've also met two owners with over 100k miles and less than 3 service visits between them. About...
  16. Overzealous A/C - Anyone else?

I do a monthly "Disco reboot". I've had the vents replaced twice under warranty; once for not holding calibration and the second time for failed/grinding stepper motors. I now calibrate them once a month after I do the reboot. It's just a garbage system, or my truck is a broken POS. Not sure...
  17. Overzealous A/C - Anyone else?

I can't leave it on Auto. It does weird shit that seems non-sensical. Things liek blowing cold air on the defrost in the winter. Engaging the floor vents in the summer and not the dash vents. Speaking of the dash vents, I have no idea why they can't just LEAVE THEM ALONE. Every time I get in...
  18. Overzealous A/C - Anyone else?

I'm gonna steal that. "Disco Reboot". Love it. Why do they make the flashers continue while it's rebooting? Neighbors asked me about it the other day, was an interesting conversation on why I was rebooting my truck.
