2 weeks ago my 1 month old Gen 2 R1S's 12V battery died. It ended up getting towed to a service center. 2 techs spent 2 and a half days trying to diagnose the issue. Originally they thought there was an issue with the HV battery. But they could not find the problem and said isolation tests...
I posted this in another thread, but thought it deserved its own thread. I took delivery of my 2025 PDM Large+ R1S on Friday, vin in 55xxx. It seems Rivian has stealth deleted the cubbies and put cupholders there now. I'm pretty disappointed since my daughter could have stored her stuff in there.
Doesn't look like there are many people close to delivery with custom orders. Only shop orders are getting delivered. Also haven't seen a single dark package in the shop or someone who custom ordered one close to delivery.
I noticed that the gear shop says the all weather floor mats are not compatible with gen 2. As far as I've seen, there weren't any interior changes, so wonder why. Also wonder how long before they have gen 2 floor mats available.

Half the time I'm not listening to anything when I'm driving. If my daughter is in the car she is listening to Disney princess music. Wondering if it would be worth it to spend the extra money or just keep the base system in gen 2.
So I was looking at the 2025 dm max that got added to the shop today, and notice the lease estimate looked higher than when I was playing with the build tool. Lease terms in both are exactly the same but the lease estimate is off between the two. Shop is on the left, build is on the right.
I'm stuck between Midnight and El Cap for my R1S. My R1T was El Cap, but I'm leaning towards Midnight with dark package and aero wheels for the R1S. Its been a long time since I had a black vehicle, so was just wondering how hard is it to keep it looking clean, and is heat really that much of an...
I've priced out DM Large, DM Max and Tri configurations, but I'm still bouncing back and forth as to which one I want. I know for sure I'm going to lease, and realistically the difference between DM Large with dark out option and aero wheels and Tri Motor is probably going to be $250-$300 a month.
Storm Blue looks great, but tri motor is too rich for me. Just wondering if there is any information on if it will come out to other motor configurations.
Dual Standard - $77,900
Dual Large - $82,900
Performance Dual Large - $87,900
Dual Max - $89,900
Performance Dual Max - $94,900
Tri Max - $105,900
Quad Max - ???
I'd love a tri motor, but I'm not willing to go over $100k.
Haven't really seen anytime do a range test on standard+ batteries. Plenty of them should be out there now. Just wondering how it stacks up against the large pack.
There is a lot of speculation on what the refresh will have. Personally I'm hoping for the return of the under dash 12V, and better quality cameras. Nice to haves but probably not happening would be a glove box and captain's chairs.
tldr; Both are awesome trucks. If you don't need the extra cabin space, R1T is the better truck.
After having another child a few months ago, it became pretty apparent that the back seat of the R1T was not sufficient for our family anymore. With the newest discounts for the F150 Lightning...
I locked in an R1S and December and want to change it to Standard+ battery and change the color. I emailed my guide (who is now different than the guide I had when I got my R1T) and he basically said I can use the R1S shop to change my configuration. Problem is they don't have any Standard+ dual...
My daughter is in a booster seat and as I backed out of the driveway she told me she wasn't buckled in. My previous vehicles would warn me about this but my R1T didn't have any alerts. Do I have a broken sensor or does the R1T not have this feature?
I reserved R1S Nov 8, configured last week, and I've been getting emails about the purchase process. Back when I was waiting for my R1T last year, that meant you were close to delivery. Is this still the case or do they just send these out when you configure your vehicle now?
I'm considering trading in my R1T for an R1S, and placed an R1S reservation on Nov 8, 2023. Today I checked my account and I have the ability to configure. Really surprised I was able to configure so quickly. I wonder if the demand is slowing, or they are just trying to match existing vehicles...
My family has grown, and the backseat of the R1T is just not big enough right now to have a car seat, a booster seat, and an adult sitting comfortably in the back. I've put down a deposit for an R1S, but am also considering an F150 Lightning. I don't have much truck stuff to do in the winter...
