I did the same as it always comes back to a heat issue in the garage (~90+degrees in the summer). The fan on the port seems to almost always prevent the reduction of charging speed.

Interesting. I should have checked them with a meter. The ends were not taped off completely, so they could definitely short in there (either with each other or with the bumper)

Absolutely agree... now it takes 11+ hours to charge, when it used to be ~6 hrs. I get the "charging reduced due to warm plug". I charge my wifes Tesla X with the same Rivian Charger, and no errors, and she gets 38 miles added per hour.
