The best solution I found is getting a slim magsafe power bank, and mounting that in a phone holder. This way the car charges the power bank, and the bank is wirelessly charging the phone, even when the car is off.

So you imply Rivian should work on duplicating features that already come with CarPlay, or stop working on its infotainment system all together and go full Apple/Android?
It was a design decision though. Rivian explicitly chose to not pursue CarPlay, and all other infotainment decisions carry this assumption. Rivian is having to redo the features that you get for free with CarPlay, but in doing so they have much more control over the integration. You can probably...
The problem is that not everyone wants their car to be an extension of their phone. The cost would almost certainly be included into the price of the vehicle, and software lock doesn't have any precedent, so the idea is questionable at best. Asking others to pay for features you want but others...
I agree, it shouldn't take this long to erect an SC.. on the other hand, just look at how long it took Tesla to scale their SC rollout in the early days. And they only had a single platform to contend with.
It's very easy to setup after you do it once.. for multi-day excursions without access to chargers you want to conserve electricity, so propane for cooking and shower makes a lot of sense.. the only compromise is needing a hockey bag's worth of storage in the bed..
I would recommend the shower...
I believe it was in the configurator briefly before being pulled but regardless, it's the same program as before.. here are the details from XPEL: https://www.xpel.com/pmp/rivian
This isn't speculation, they offered factory full stealth in the past and it was clearly stated that the warranty is same as vehicle, and they only wrap edges where panel removal is not necessary.
Likewise, it's jumping to conclusion that Rivian will be using same materials and install process as a reputable Xpel dealer. Rivian did in fact offer full body PPF (stealth) but then they pulled it from the configurator. Rivian is optimizing for volume production so speed and value is...
For those who missed out, don't feel bad, they use precut pieces and do not wrap some of the crucial edges, so you're better off spending more and getting it done at a reputable shop instead. Remember, Rivian is optimizing for volume and efficiency here so the factory option is completely...
I have the Interrobang cover, and my only complaint is that it doesn't create a water-tight seal, so definitely something to keep in mind when storing gear.
I don't think it's fair to imply Rivian would not be here if it wasn't for Tesla. You can argue the talent development and public opinion factors, but you must also point out the massive greenfield advantages of having no competition. Remember, Tesla is a big reason why RJ pivoted away from the...
I have the Joolca Hot Tap, it works well and has ability to pull from any water source and also recirculate grey water for unlimited showers.
