Did the update yesterday and played with it briefly. I can confirm it is able to turn the seat heater on but fails to turn it off, despite acknowledging it has done so.
I asked āherā to report that error to Rivian and āsheā said she wouldā¦but did āsheā really?
I found the OEM Pirelli Scorpion All Season tires were, in fact, 3 season tires. Too precarious down my steep paved drivewaywhen it got snowy. I mounted Nokian Hakka R5 SUV snow tires on Black Rhinos wheels and now handle it easily.
Got a chance to try out Camp Mode in my Launch Edition R1S this past weekend. Overall went great. Leveled the vehicle nicely, used Camp Courtesy to avoid annoying the tenters next door and climate control kept the interior a comfortable 70 degrees over the damp rainy weekend. The only issue I...
I went with the Nokian Hakka R5s as well after discovering that the Pirelli Scorpions are actually ā3 Seasonā tires. Lousy snow grip on my steep paved driveway. The R5s behaved perfectly this past snowy winter here in PA.
My NACS adapter and mini Tesla Tap level 2 adapter both fit nicely in the zipper pouch that holds my charging cable in the sub-frunk. I charge mostly at home, so no big deal to dig them out as needed.
They did replace the harness, but it didnāt resolve the issue. Based on info from this site, I pushed for replacement of the Central Gateway Module and that fixed all charging issues.
Ok, the vehicle was flatbedded home yesterday. Took it immediately to the local Wawa for a test charge at the Tesla SC there. I plugged in the NACS adapter and selected the charger with the Tesla app. It said āfailed to chargeā or something like that but I was getting the green light around the...
It would never DC charge. Refused to initiate charge regardless of charging station, credit card vs app, preconditioning or external temperature. Always errored out. Level 1 and 2 (AC) charged just fine.
So, finally some good news. They had my R1S for a day and called me, saying it was fixed. After everything prior, I was dubious. Said I wanted to talk to the head tech. He explain that they replaced the CGM and it fast charged without a hitch. I reviewed the charging history and saw they pulled...
Updateā¦contacted Rivian again, after 2 weeks of silence on their part, about the charging issue. They sent the head tech from the Trenton SC all the way up here to verify that Iām not an idiot. He tried fast charging as well and acknowledged that it doesnāt. (Insert the comment of your choice)...
So, after 2+ weeks in the Trenton SC, they called to say they were dropping my R1S off. They reportedly replaced the vehicle charging port and said it now fast charging successfully. They returned it last Wed. and I immediately took it to the local Tesla Supercharger station. (The only fast...
Got an update on fast charging issue. Trenton Service Center āhas verifiedā that it wonāt fast charge and is ordering a new charging port. Hopefully that will address the problemā¦
According to Dave, level 1&2 charging are handled separately from fast charging, which requires the CGM. So, I can charge at home but not fast charge. Makes sense from my limited understanding.
I feel your pain. I have another thread going so I wonāt elaborate, but I failed to charge much via 110v at the beach because I was āstopping at Rivian chargersā on the way home. Turns out I have a faulty CGM and was unable to fast charge, despite trying 2 different bank of chargers. Crawled...
Updateā¦Dave, my local mobile tech came out with a Tesla adapter and we popped down to the nearby Tesla Supercharger bank for another whack at it. He had his laptop hooked up to monitor charging activity. Nothing! Timed out every time. Daveās suspicion is the CGM. It goes back to Trenton next...
No noise at all. Tries to initiate charge for maybe 45-60 sec, then times out and tells me to unplug and try again.
What I find fascinating is that they claim it fast charged for them, but when I look at my charging history, the only charge session that day was for 2.5 hrs, gaining 25kwh and 59...
