Yes other remotes will work and they are typically listed with ad’s for the receiver. Since I live 5 min away from a Home Depot the Chamberlain remote was quick and easy to purchase.
For those attempting to make automated gates work. I purchased a Liftmaster 850lm transmitter, wired it to the NO and Com ports (and 12V supply). I ended up purchasing a Chamberlain 950EV to make it work. Once I had the right remote it worked instantly.
Thanks to the group for the suggestions. I have it working. Purchased a different remote from Home Depot and it worked instantly (even though the original remote worked with the R1T.
This was an experiment to use the Rivian opener for my gate. Used a Liftmaster 850lm and with the Chamberlain...
I’ve successfully programmed our R1T to both a Genie and Liftmaster opener. The R1S was successful with the Genie opener but after some time I can’t get it to work with the Liftmaster.

Service person said that the adapters have rolled out slowly (as we know) but that everyone would receive their adapters by end of August. I responded...
I can’t think of any reason other than heat. I’m not using the Rivian charger however I’ve used two other 3rd party charges. In AZ when the temp runs high the thermal overload will trip at max.
Also I assume you’re running with a 60amp+ circuit? At 50 amps you really shouldn’t run past 40 amps.
