  3. Brand new R1S is DEAD

    Couldn’t agree more with this.
  4. Picked up R1S 3/31/2024 - broke two blocks later followed by a catastrophic failure

Thanks for posting. This totally blows I think you’re right to ask for a new VIN. And I think it’s wrong to lose your deposit if you change your mind about the purchase in the 7 day window. That ain’t right.
  5. Map guidance voice gone?!

This also happened in our R1S. I decided to wait for the next update but perhaps will try the entertainment reset since that worked for you.
  6. Problems problems, all these damn problems! Let's hear from those who've had little / no issues! ?ļø

R1S purchased from shop June ā€˜23. Flawless, zero problems. Best, most capable vehicle made today. I don’t think that’s going to change anytime soon. And congrats to Rivian for having the foresight to target the commercial market. AT&T deal is tip of the iceberg. āœŒļø
  7. UAW is coming after Rivian

And also note GM just goosed its stock price with buybacks and dividend increases. Clearly the union deal is not tanking the company. For their downsides, unions are critical parts of a healthy capitalist economy because exploiting labor is a built in feature.
  8. New R1S impressions from a Grand Cherokee owner (Long)

Really enjoyed reading this! I’ll chime in to say my charging pad works fine and I’ve never had any issues locking/unlocking - not with phone, cards, or fob.
  9. R1S second row seats are laughably hard to manipulate

Also agree on this one. Should be much easier to manipulate.
  10. Dog steps for R1S?

My 2 dogs in the end like going in the back through the passenger side door. With the second row seat forward there’s enough room for them and it’s not a jump. I live in Brooklyn and finding space to use any kind of ramp or steps is not practical so glad they can go in the side. They’re big but...
  11. 2 days in new R1S, initial thoughts for new EV owners

I’d read the 20ā€ ATs are smoother on the R1S and that seems to be true. Brooklyn roads can be bumpy as heck and the ride is just fine for us. As a new EV owner just a week in I’ll never go back to a gas guzzler. Yes they’re a 100 year old well-developed tech, but talk about the oil & gas tail...
  12. Latest build quality R1S VIN1306x

Our 12xxx R1S — only issue I’ve noticed is the very slight clunking noise over bumps you mention. Maybe I’m not as particular but as far as I can tell everything is perfect.
