I have a 2023 R1T built in June 2023, with NO power outlet in the frunk.
The wiring harness leading into the front driver side of the frunk only contains two wires. They are for the frunk light.
When tracing this harness backward toward the windshield, I discovered a connector about midway...
I have a grinding or vibrating noise under 10mph, when accelerating or decelerating. It's much worse when towing a trailer, but started 1-2 months before I purchased the trailer. It is unchanged when in Conserve mode (front motors only).
Did you ever find out what it was?
Mine has it. I notice it when under 10mph, whether accelerating or decelerating under regen. It is much more pronounced and obvious when towing a heavy trailer. I'm trying to figure out how to explain it to service, so they "get it".
Last fall, they told me it was tire cupping, but it's not. I...
I'm suddenly getting all kinds of warnings about keeping my hands on the wheel. It's like the steering wheel sensitivity is failing to detect my hands, because they are definitely on the wheel before the warnings.
This is very frustrating, because it is making Adaptive Cruise Control and...
This is what service did for mine, this week. They described the water location as "rocker panels".
("Clunking" is their word. I told them I heard a dull thud, or bass drum type of sound.)
EDIT: Added service invoice.
This is an old thread, but I have new info from Rivian:
There are also plugs in the rocker panels!
I was hearing a thud, or bass drum-type sound, every time during acceleration. Service diagnosed it and wrote back with this:
“So we found there was water ingress...
Does anyone know the mixing ratio for this to be the same strength as Rivian's original?
I created an account at GC, put the 4-gallon case in my cart, and it's $93.40 total (with tax and $25 shipping).
I'm trying to figure out how many gallons I can get out of this, with it still being strong...
Thanks! I'm still glad I tried.
The planks are sealed in pretty good with the expanding foam, so while not impossible, it would be very difficult to get all eight slider pieces out of them. Adding aluminum angle or tubing in the beginning would have been smart, but it also would have raised the...
Again, If you are considering making this with PVC fence planks, you may want to think again. They continue to change their shape when baking in the hot sun. I just added UPDATE #3 to my original post, due to the panel gaps widening. I would not have used these PVC planks if I had known this in...
Mine, too. I use a Tesla Wall Connector with a Lectron NACS to J1772 adapter, so 6kW max. This charging session was from 65%-90%, beginning at Midnight.
I’m wondering whether the truck is pausing on purpose, to let the BMS take a look at the current state of charge and do some evaluations...
If you are considering making this with PVC fence planks, be sure to read UPDATE #1 and UPDATE #2, added to my original post at the top of page 1. The panels are corrugating, and I am having to deal with some sagging.
Looks good, and it serves the purpose of gaining covered storage!
See my updates in the original post, because you may have to deal with some sagging, longer-term.
Almost the same experience here, with my R1T running boards!
Missing: Both Bits
Missing: 4 nut/bolt sets for attaching running boards to brackets
Missing: 4 nut/bolt sets for attaching running board top plates to tube frames
Extras: A bag of 20+ nuts and bolts not needed for these running...
