I'm not sure this was entirely monetary savings vs something in the design that made it too big of a "cost". They could have offered it on top trim or as an option, like the tow package or other upgrades that performance got over premium/standard.
Not in my opinion. The frunk was an out of sight location for prying opportunists. Laptops and work bags frequently go in there instead of the back. It's also extra space for dirtier stuff, like wagons, balls, shoes, life vests, etc. Rear seat folding, on the other hand, isnt going to get used...
For the people that use the frunk quite a bit, its a big miss. We keep our sports equipment up there. Wagon, balls, turf shoes every weekend. I think those that dont use the frunk ever might have too much car for their use case... at least for the r1s.
Hi all, I couldn't find this exact combination of scenarios with a search and wanted to double check with everyone.
I've seen some new NACS adapters popping up at RAN chargers. Does the Tesla manufactured, Rivian supplied NACS->CCS1 adapter work on RANs too? I gave a '24 Gen1 R1S.
Thanks all.
To determine whether we can downsize, the most important cargo item is the pop up canopy for soccer games... will that fit in the back of the R2 without putting second row down... ?
R1S is hitting 22000 in 22 months =).
Not sure how big of a market this is but I would like a nice desk to use in the front passenger or rear seats when I do my Rivian Mobile Office Space.
This is definitely not a money maker for Rivian based on all the resources that was used. Employee salary time spent here is salary time not spent elsewhere. Maybe Rivian got to write off all of those costs since it was for charity?
More security means more inconveniences... The line is different for everyone. I wonder where the line is for insurance costs. Would insurance companies offer us lower premiums if we enable this 2-factor dance?
For me, if there's no monetary benefit here, I'm not sure this inconvenience is...
