  1. CT being used to haul stuff IRL

"But they really are so practical!" "Can't beat the payload capabilities!" "Think about how useful that flat bed is!"
  2. Camp speaker issue and solution

NOTHING changed with my gen1 R1S, no settings, haven't touched the camp speaker. In fact, kinda forgot it was down there. I did install the software update, but that was a few days ago. So I get in my R1S this morning and all of a sudden, this very loud powering down sound comes from somewhere...
  3. The Elephant in the Room [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICAL DISCUSSION]

What we're seeing today is the equivalent of a company winning a big development contract or government contract - and then their named competitors are priced as not winning that business. The overall exuberance in the market is a reaction to some stability and certainty. It didn't take three...
  4. Wipers going nuts - won't stop

Thanks for the input and what your experiences have been. The issue persisted even when auto wipers were turned off. It persisted after multiple resets. Letting the R1 sleep finally fixed/cleared the issue. There wasn't anything visible setting off the sensor, but maybe that's what I need to be...
  5. Wipers going nuts - won't stop

Any of you have the issue where your wipers go crazy and can't be turned off? It's happened to me twice now. First time, a reset fixed it. Second time it was more persistent and although I could get them to stop with a reset, the wipers stayed in whatever position they were in when the reset...
  6. What % of owners have experienced 12v battery failure?

Warning: long post. Super positive update covering what I learned about the 12V issue and how the mobile service went. My tech was super knowledgeable and said that this is an issue with 2023 and early 2024 builds. He said the supplier was bad and sent out batches of defective batteries. What...
  7. What % of owners have experienced 12v battery failure?

Well, I'm sad to report that I'm in the "yes" column. Just got back from a week long trip and the R1S was in the garage, at 62% charge. I got a warning on the app that the 12V battery needs to be replaced and sure enough, the vehicle was dead. I was able to get it to turn on in a limited...
  8. NON-ROOF Recovery Board Mounting solution?

Thanks? for the suggestions? guys? When I couldn't fit them under the panel in the trunk, I didn't even think about the frunk - mainly because of all the junk in there already. So I removed: - Two baseball gloves - One soccer ball - Two footballs - Pickleball paddles - One rugby ball - One...
  9. NON-ROOF Recovery Board Mounting solution?

Anyone have a good solution for mounting recovery boards not on the roof for an R1S - meaning truck bed solutions aren't applicable here.
  10. Torsion bar under tailgate flap

This is exactly what I ended up doing. Helpful that you actually describe it here for others who might be wrestling with it, too. Not only did the mobile repair guy not fix it, but he kind of jacked up the area and I had to do some scratch repair - thankfully it was all internal, so nothing...
  11. Help removing white paint.

Get a can of Break Free. My wife scraped one of our brand new cars against something and we took it to the dealership to see what they could do since the car was basically new. One of the guys in the garage told me to drive it off the lot and he'll come talk to me in a minute. He brought a can...
  12. Who's got the most miles?

Who among us thinks they have the most miles on their R1? Let us know: - Mileage - How long you've had yours - R1S or R1T - Location - Any cool stories
  13. Cybertrucks rolling off in Northern Virginia (McLean)

Happened to see these getting dropped off when I was picking up my kid from sports stuff. I heard they're so heavy that you can't put more than a few on a carrier. ...I guess whoever picked these up on Tuesday need to bring them right back for the recall. Truly uglier in person. It's weirdly...
  14. 7500 mile service worth doing?

Thanks for the information and responses. I don't think I'm going to have them do the mobile service this time. Very little to gain out of it and high potential for another ham handed experience where the guy causes new issues. Why I'm not going to do it: A. I can just get a tire rotation done...
  15. 7500 mile service worth doing?

Is the 7500 mile service worth doing? What do they do? What's the multipoint inspection about? And the tire rotation? Does it cost extra? I had a number of liftgate issues and other minor items that I had a mobile service appointment for that left a lot to be desired - and left me with some new...
  16. Fishing Gear -- rod holder for 10' rods?

Zoidz with some great solutions again. Helps that your beach situation is the exact same area as where I'll be driving around.
  17. Fishing Gear -- rod holder for 10' rods?

Dunno if this is the right thread for this, but need some recommendations on a fishing rod holder for 10' rods. I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the ones that you strap to the interior of the vehicle. I'm leaning toward the trailer hitch kind, but wonder if there are any cons besides the rods...
  18. First RAN experience

Driving up and down and around the mid-atlantic during Thanksgiving weekend, got to checkout my first RAN charger. Excellent location at the Christiana Mall in Delaware. Very fast, easy - and again, great location. Nice chatting with other Rivian owners, too.
