  1. What’s your “can’t live without it” Rivian accessory?

    A $19 improvement to the Gen 1 R1S phone charger. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C6SD1CK4?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1
  2. EA over Tesla chargers driving across Nebraska and Eastern CO

I've driven from Lincoln to Denver several times and once (so far) from Lincoln to California. The Tesla chargers have always been the easiest to use. But the EA chargers have worked fine, too. There is an EA charger at Ogallala that is near hotels and reasonably close dining. I'd recommend...
  3. Android App Issue - EDIT Rivian issue, fixed many hours later

Rivian service says they have a system problem with Androids. Mine is broken, too. They are working on it.
  4. Tesla Superchargers - Idaho Springs or Silverthorne, CO

You are right, it is a small lot. And taking up two spaces is concerning. I do tend to check my car's cameras occasionally to see if anyone is waiting. So far, I've had no problems.
  5. Tesla Superchargers - Idaho Springs or Silverthorne, CO

We love the Tesla Supercharger at Idaho Springs! We've successfully and easily charged our Gen 1 R1S there twice now over the past two weeks. The best part is that about 2 blocks away, the Main Street Restaurant is a great place for lunch while car is charging.
  6. 2025.10.1 Damaged Alexa

I am seeing the same symptoms. Rivian was going to send out a service van. But they decided that it really is a software update bug and that they will correct it in a future update.
  7. 2025.10.1 Damaged Alexa

In the process of trouble shooting the Alexa problem with a service adviser, I did two soft reboots and one hard reboot. I also let the car reset by going to sleep. I'll try a soft reboot again with the drive mode screen. Rivian is sending a mobile service truck out in about a week to do...
  8. 2025.10.1 Damaged Alexa

It appears that the problem is that the Alexa voice is feeding the "media" input instead of the "Alexa" input. You can change the volume of the Alexa voice by adjusting the media volume. Also, I just discovered that the driving mode screen no longer shows torque and regeneration on the tire...
  9. 2025.10.1 Damaged Alexa

I have a 2023 Rivian R1S that I love. However, the 2025.10.1 update caused strange things to happen with Alexa. I cannot control the volume of the Alexa voice. I can change the volume of the alert tones just not the voice. Also, if I understood the update description correctly, I should be...
  10. SiriusXM Radio Subscription Transfer

After reading about subscription concerns with the new SiriusXM App, I thought I'd share my experience. I'm very fortunate in that about 30 years ago, XM Radio was trying to raise capital. They offered lifetime accounts. I got three of them - one for each car we had. (We've saved a lot.)...
  11. First Long Trip in my R1S: Lincoln, NE, to Dayton, OH

Except for the free charging at the Dayton hotel, charging was much pricier on the road than at home. My max pack dual motor R1S doesn't have conserve mode. So, I can't compare. I do strongly agree with "I loved every minute of it."
  12. First Long Trip in my R1S: Lincoln, NE, to Dayton, OH

I should have tracked my efficiency for the whole trip. I did, however, watch the efficiency graph on the dash. My efficiency stayed at or just under 2 miles/kwh. I drove the speed limit on the Interstate. At one point, I changed from 70 mph to 60 mph and my efficiency went up to about 2.2...
  13. First Long Trip in my R1S: Lincoln, NE, to Dayton, OH

Overall, it was a fun trip. The Rivian was a pleasure to drive. I worried about charging but had no problem at all. I used mostly Tesla Superchargers. My A2Z adaptor worked great. Charging using the Tesla chargers was virtually automatic -- just plug in and walk away. The Tesla chargers...
  14. First Charge with A2Z NACS to CCS adapter (success!)

When you say you used the "app". Was that the Rivian App or the Tesla App?
