I traded in my Gen 1 R1S for a Gen 2. It's really a great car. However, the phone charger doesn't work that well with Android phones. So I ordered a 2025+ replacement phone charger from EVBase. Unfortunately, my new car's original charger is different from the one the EVBase unit is designed to replace. I cannot move the charging coils from the installed charger to the replacement -- the frame designs are different.

I tried calling EVBase but their voice mail is "full." So I emailed them but haven't heard anything back.

Anyone else have a good experience with EVBase customer service?

For better Android charging without messing with the factory pad, a dash mount's the easy route - we make two for the R1, one that clips to an AC vent and one that mounts on the dash, both wireless. Since you're on Android they hold magnetically (MagSafe-style), so a cheap stick-on magnet ring or a case with one gets you a solid snap-and-charge. Dash one's here if it helps: https://twraps.com/products/dashboard-phone-mount-for-rivian-r1t-r1s

I have a Galaxy phone with a MagSafe case, so I can use one of my three dash mounts; I have a far left, a far right, and one next to the center screen, but only the left one has Qi charging. EV Sportline, EveryAmp, TWraps, and Abstract Ocean all make mounts on/around the dash.
Most days I use the TWRAPS far left mount that uses part of the vent gap with the QI pad from them, which has the extra benefit of A/C air blowing on the charging disc cooling down the phone; it can charge in full sunlight at full speed with the A/C on.

They make junk that doesn't fit at all, and customer service will gaslight you, jerk you around, and then they will offer a partial refund to get you off their backs.

I have a 2024 gen 1 truck with this charger. You can pretty much ignore the instructions. You don’t have to swap anything from the original charger. It doesn’t need an adapter cable either. You just pull the original charging pad, plug in the factory cable, and snap in the new charger. It’s a 10 minute job.
