Talked to the service center (Chelsea) about checking out my R1S for issues before warranty is up. They said that is no longer free. They charge ~$250 for a comprehensive inspection, but anything they find wrong that is not wear (ex: brakes) they will replace under warranty.
Something is up since the last update. It works when I start on home WIFI, but as soon as I drive away, it stops working and says weak signal. I have 3 of 4 bars and Apple Music and Audible work with no issues. Sirius also used to worked fine in the same area until recently.
Again...
Also have the unable to authorize error, and it seems to be more frequent after the last update. Only soft reset or letting the car sleep clears it. Gen 1 R1S.
If I were to guess, it seems to happen when opening the app with low LTE reception. It doesnāt recover even when LTE signal improves.
With 2025.46, I appreciate that there is now an option of 2 routes vs 1. Itās not perfect, but better than just 1.
As the platform improves, I would love to see a third āecoā option. For example, if Iām not in a hurry, a non-highway route that takes 10% more time and significantly less kWh...
Are you guys concerned the weight rating on these tires is "XL", not the higher "HL"? Was that an issue for anyone getting Michelin Defenders installed? For example, when looking on TireRack, Michelin Defenders don't even come up for R1S because of the lower weight rating.
The OP was talking about the Platinums, which are more like all-terrain tires. Iām not surprised they are noisy, and heavy at 52lb/tire.
The other Michelin Defender LTX model is the M/S2, which is only 43lb/tire and have a more traditional road tire tread. I would expect that to stay quiet as...
Native apple podcast app if we canāt get CarPlay! Waze alerts would be great too, since itās already running google maps.
For DIY types with vehicle coming off warranty, an actual parts catalog and repair manual in the app would be fantastic.
When typing in destinations in maps screen, locations saved as favorites should come up first. For example, I have a saved location titled āThe Kidās Leagueā that I navigate to all the time, for obvious reasons. Typing in āKā or āKiā should bring that up first. I get all sorts of random...
So just to be clear, to open the tailgate, the bike rack needs to be tilted down first. But, to operate the power liftgate, the rack can stay in the up position. Did I get that right? Thanks!
omg so gen 2s can have motion triggered āexterior lights and soundsā anywhere? Can anyone with a gen 1 confirm they also can only motion trigger at home the āexterior lights and interior soundsā?
Just curious, in one bike mode, it seems the liftgate and camera not obstructed in the up position. Does the tailgate work, or does it need a hitch extender for that? And does it trigger the reverse sensors?
Gen 1. I had Sirius radio on and then turned on the costume. It kept playing Sirius station and making all the sound effects. My kids said itās the creepy Noah Kahan remix. So turn off your music before you turn on the costume.
I wish they made the motion-triggered sound effects work...
Thank you for this informative post. One of the gen1 vs gen2 differences is the ability to recognize cars to the side of the vehicle. That must be with the side cameras, not mobileye, correct?
