For anyone else looking, I called around and could not find a Firestone or Discount Tire that would do an alignment on the Rivian but Fuller's Automotive in Hinsdale had the right equipment and did a great job.
I looked at the SC but the wait was until Feb. 6 for an appt when I could walk into...
Has anyone needed to get an alignment in Chicago area? If so, have you found any local options without needing to wait to go through the Chicago service center?

Moving audio controls to driver side is long overdue. That is a borderline safety issue to have to reach across and I have always wonder who signed off on the original layout.
Just received my R1S and could not figure out how to use the track buttons on the steering wheel to switch between stations I favorite. Is that possible? Am I missing something or does this need to be an option in a future OTA?

Has anyone heard if the layoffs will impact their Guide?
I could see Rivian going away from Guides overtime but think they'd need to replace them with some sort of "sales/facilitator" role. Only having a generic CS chat or number would not be a great way to go through the purchase process.
I’ve been waiting 4 days for the 8-Steps to start since my Guide manually matched me to an available one that met most of my criteria. Has anyone else had to wait that long? It seems most are starting right after being told they match so I’m concerned something went wrong.
When I said I was flexible on color I got a call and told what was available that met my other criteria. I picked one, was sent a PBA with the new configuration and told I was Matched to a VIN and should get 8-Steps in a few days.

Did your Guide match you to a specific VIN or did you just get an email stating you are ready for 8-Steps? I signed the PBA yesterday after being matched by my Guide but was told a few days for 8-steps, which seems a bit out of the experiences others have seen.
I talked with my Guide and have been told I am matched to a VIN! I was told it'd be a few days before being invited to start the "Digital Purchasing Process." Is that delay what others have experienced?

Happy for those getting 8-Steps (and maybe it gives me some hope) but also really frustrating to see non-LEs starting to get delivered when I am still waiting and waiting.
I'd prefer the mats with the yellow Rivian compass but who knows when those will come. I jumped on getting a set of mats and hope one day I'll actually have the R1S to match.
That ebay listing is very misleading.
Title says 2023 R1S but it lists a 2022 VIN and then the description says it's a reservatino slot for a 2023.
It really should be deleted by ebay and the seller penalized.
The stories of folks getting 8-Steps gives me hope but it seems the pace of building R1S is very slow. I am curious what Rivian will announce as it is target production goal for 2023. The ramp up is clearly no coming in January.

Looking at some of the threads about the R1 shop, it seems Rivian is producing a ton of non-matched R1Ts and then offering them to various SC locations for folks to grab. Maybe that was part of the year-end push for numbers and now they need to just get them sold but it concerns me that it still...
I am curious if the number of R1Ts has any deeper meaning?
For example, has Rivian run out of pre-orders that are not near a service center so they are just shipping large batches and waiting for anyone to grab them?
