1 year of ownership was up yesterday and what a year! Absolutely love this truck, get's better with every update. Took a few road trips in the last year:
824 Miles - Normal, IL to Wilmington, DE
1,454 Miles - Wilmington, DE to Atlanta, GA and back
1,280 Miles - Wilmington, DE to Charleston...
Would love to see from Rivian real statistics based on model year... #R1T, #R1S, #of color/model, #Color/Interior/model, #Color/Interior/Rim choice/model...be nice to know how rare or popular your selection was. Corvette releases these type of statistics every year, and it's great information...
Just did a 1300 mile road trip. Was consistently getting over 2.5 mi/kWh, with my best at 3.2 mi/kWh! Overall not bad...EA does need to work on their chargers, at least one was down at every stop. Several were severely throttled.
I have a R1T quad motor, 21" AT tires, running in conserve...
Great write up...was there taking delivery of mine as well that morning! We rented a car in Delaware one way and then returned it after picking up the R1T. Couldn't agree more about the factory tour. Was worth the trip. Also our first EV and was very nervous about the 897 mile trip home...
Does anyone know when Rivian changes model years? I am assuming all R1T's produced are 2022, including those delivered at the end of 2021? Wondering when they start producing the 2023 model year. In theory I am getting delivery in November, and if it was from one of the big 3 auto...
Brings up an interesting question...where do you check Brake fluid, power steering fluid, or any other hydraulic system? I remember in the manual only the windshield wiper fluid where you can add.
Still trying to figure out where Delaware is going to be covered from...this is about 2 hours away, not awful except the DC traffic! The other one is Brooklyn, NY as far as I know.
So when you look at the prices at Tire Rack:
20" - $356.89 each
21" - $412.65 each
22" - $409.51 each
Now those are some pricey tires...my C7 Corvette are about $550 each. Hopefully the price will drop as they produce more by the time I need replacements!
MAX Pack - why? I understand range anxiety, but $10k is a huge premium for ~114 miles. For the few road trips you take you can fly, rent a car, or deal with the charging for a lot less. Most of us will only own this for 3-5 years, and better technology will be out by then. Unless you are...
